Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is very stable and we have been using it for five years.""Everything is in a single pane and you can look at your network in one centralized place.""Some of the features I have found valuable are the ease of access, simple configuration, and monitoring.""Scalability is one of Meraki Dashboard's strongest features. We have thousands of users if we're counting the end-users on our clients' network, but we have hundreds of clients.""It's really user-friendly.""The ability to view the entire project stack, including the camera, features, and routers, which I believe are the most important or relevant components.""The most valuable features are that it's easy to use and technically very complete. I can configure, do advanced troubleshooting in the dashboard, and reboot access points remotely.""The product can scale if you need it to."

"The product offers good documentation that helps with initial training.""What I like most about Zenoss Service Dynamics is that it monitors the devices and gives close to real-time alerts. For example, in case the device is not available, Zenoss Service Dynamics generates an alert so my team can resolve the issue.""It's easy to use."

Cons
"The price could be lower because the license for access points is expensive.""There needs to be more improvement on the device-connected interface.""When users are trying to roam from one location to another location, geographical tracking would be helpful.""More integration would be an improvement.""Some features could be added.""There are some issues with the NAT configuration, it is now impossible to some operations with the solution.""I would like to receive decent notification alerts regarding the license's expiry. Or any help on correcting or optimizing licenses, because in certain circumstances you can add a license but it's the wrong licensing. However, the Dashboard adds the license in some way, and you do not utilize it. You can simply extend the license's expiration date.""Meraki lacks their own software for connecting to the VPN which creates some issues."

More Meraki Dashboard Cons →

"As Zenoss Service Dynamics is more for network-centric devices and you want to monitor, for example, a server, its services, IP addresses, and interfaces, if it's a network and you're going to monitor multiple items, you'll be charged multiple times. This is what Zenoss Service Dynamics needs to improve to make sure that customers pay just one fee to monitor the entire server. What I'd like to see in Zenoss Service Dynamics in the future is a public cloud monitoring feature, particularly for the Azure public cloud. Another additional feature I'd like to see in the next release of the solution is integration with the Azure public cloud because I know that there are some services from Azure that Zenoss Service Dynamics is currently unable to monitor.""The AI aspect needs to improve.""It would be ideal if the product offered sound alerts."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "My view is that it's expensive, but it's the best."
  • "The price of Meraki Dashboard is not expensive because knowing that it is a cloud-based solution has its benefits."
  • "Licensing for Meraki Dashboard is paid every year, and it's on a per-device model that costs roughly $300 to $400 per device, but that comes with full support and troubleshooting, etc. Compared to similar products, Meraki Dashboard is quite high-end, but the costs you pay are all-in."
  • "I’m not sure of the exact cost, however, it’s my understanding the Meraki WiFi is around $800. That’s for a three-year license. It’s about $150 a year."
  • "The Meraki Dashboard has more competitive pricing."
  • "You don't have to pay for the dashboard."
  • "Meraki Dashboard is a utility and portal that's part of the Meraki solution."
  • "Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
  • More Meraki Dashboard Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The pricing depends on the environment, the number of services, and the size of the data center. It can go from $100,000 to a million dollars."
  • "There are additional costs you'll have to pay apart from the license fee for Zenoss Service Dynamics. I can't remember exactly how much my company is paying because I don't handle the finance part, but the cost is paid annually. On a scale of one to five, with one being the cheapest and five being the most expensive, I'm rating the solution three out of five."

    Reviews from Real Users

PeerSpot user Aldo-P., Security Architect at ITSur, says, “The solution has a variety of great features. The dashboard is excellent. With it, I can see everything from one place. It gives me a full picture of my networks and I can quickly see if there are any trouble areas to note. The user experience is excellent. Within the solution is a piece of software called Twill, which is very good. It's like dynamic monitoring. Twill provides a great user experience. I can put the URL from a website and I can send the user and password on that. Overall, it's a great solution, and I consider it to be one of the best. The initial setup is very easy. The product offers good documentation that helps with initial training.”
