We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Threat Explorer is one of the features that I very much like because it is a real-time report that allows you to identify, analyze, and trace security attacks.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is the ease of use.""I would say that 90% of the spam and phishing attack emails get blocked right off the bat.""The basic features are okay and I'm satisfied with the Defender.""It also gives the vulnerability status according to the versions you have selected. Let's say you have Google Chrome. It mentions the versions it has, and it updates. Within two hours of an update, it is reflected in the dashboard. That's really nice to have.""At the moment we are satisfied with this product. It's a stable, scalable, and resilient solution for us.""Does a thorough job of examining email and URLs for malicious content.""Some of the valuable features on the email side are anti-phishing, anti-malware, and Safe Links."

"It is stable and reliable.""Provides good exfiltration, and is an all-in-one product."

More McAfee Advanced Threat Defense Pros →

"The most valuable features are all of the security features in terms of protection and SSL and VPN.""The scalability is acceptable.""You have better control because you define apps. You just don't define ports. You define apps, and the apps are monitored in the traffic. It is more specific than the Cisco firewall when it comes to our needs.""The solution is completely integrated with all the other Palo Alto products. I think that it is the best part for endpoint protection. The firewall features include URL and DNS filtering, threat protection, and antivirus.""The most valuable features of Palo Alto Networks WildFire are the good URL and file analysis that uses artificial intelligence. It has different interfaces, such as rest, SMTP protocol, and HTTPS. The Security incidents and event management are very good. Additionally, there are many file types that are supported and there is no limit to the number of files it can handle simultaneously. It integrates well with SIEM solutions.""Scalable ATP solution that's quick to set up. It demonstrates good performance and stability.""We have found that Palo Alto Networks WildFire is scalable. We currently have six thousand users for the product.""Remote access is excellent."

Cons
"I'd like some additional features any product can give me to protect our environment in a better way.""Configuration requires going to a lot of places rather than just accessing one tab.""This product's effectiveness could be improved, in terms of detecting unwanted spam or even malware between the emails, compared to other products.""In one of the reports I can get the exact place where a vulnerable file resides. But for that, I need to explicitly go into the device and check. If they could include that file part in the report, without my having to go to the device itself, that would help.""The company should focus on adding threats that the solution is currently unable to detect.""The custom alerts have to improve a lot.""We need a separate license and we don't know how to get the license that is required.""They can improve their security in a way where a customer can know if all their attachments are safe or not to open through a report. The solution does its job perfectly, but it never reports to the customer whether those attachments have been stopped before or not."

"We'd like them to be better at dealing with script threats.""Lacks remote capabilities not dependent on the internet."

More McAfee Advanced Threat Defense Cons →

"In terms of what I'd like to see in the next release of Palo Alto Networks WildFire, each release is based on malware that has been identified. The key problem is an average of six months from the time malware is written to the time it's discovered and a signature is created for it. The only advice that I can give is for them to shorten that timeframe. I don't know how they would do it, but if they shorten that, for example, cut it in half, they'll make themselves more famous.""In the future, Palo Alto could reduce the time it takes to process the file.""The support is good but they could be faster.""The system performance degrades after the solution has been deployed for some time. The data that it gives us becomes a little bit slow. When you try to get some data for troubleshooting, it seems like it's working hard to extract that data.""I don't think it needs to improve anything, except maybe the speed to deploy the changes.""The only problem with this solution is the cost. It's expensive.""Palo Alto Networks WildFire could improve by adding support for manual submission of suspicious files and URLs. Additionally, it would be an advantage to add rule-based analysis. Currently, it uses only static and AI. We need to be able to analyze archive files.""Management and web filtering can be improved. There should also be better reporting, particularly around web filtering."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "For licensing, it's usually a yearly package for customers who are subscribed to Office 365, but they can also pay on a monthly basis."
  • "Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is an add-on to the Office license. Many customers are purchasing this solution."
  • "Microsoft Defender for Office 365 comes with Microsoft Windows. It is free with the operating system."
