Needs improvement in content and user interface while supporting compliance with ease
There are several areas for improvement. The pricing needs adjustment, the UI needs enhancement, and the management of assignment and completion needs improvement. For instance, when I assign someone a course, it should have a deadline that doesn't automatically increase if the person isn't completing the course. The effectiveness of Kaspersky Security Awareness's interactive modules and real-time cyber scenarios rates at a six. The gamified learning paths rate at a five, indicating definite room for improvement in this area. While we have achieved compliance, the control over the program is limited. Verifying team knowledge is challenging as exam integrity cannot be guaranteed. They need to update the security courses with more real-time or real-life scenarios.

Email defenses have reduced phishing incidents and protect sensitive data across our enterprise
As things are evolving and threats develop in unpredictable ways, Proofpoint must adopt AI solutions and agentic solutions more aggressively and provide them to customers as part of service offerings. Inbuilt AI solutions would add more value and make Proofpoint a more premium choice for customers. With the help of AI solutions, agentic AI, and generative AI capabilities, the product would be more efficient than it currently is. Filtering false positives is highly challenging because it is impossible for humans to identify which emails are genuine and which are spam. Proofpoint should focus more on this area with back-end agents or other tools. Proofpoint should decide which emails are genuine and which are spam so it is not a challenge for end users. When receiving an email, end users should not have to determine whether to respond or not. Proofpoint should not release such spam emails and should strictly block such spam and spoof emails based on connection IPs. Currently, false positives occur in the product, and while this occurs in every product, it is an area where Proofpoint can focus on improving and reducing false positives. One email is enough for an end user to be deceived and lose money, so addressing this area is critical.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Kaspersky Security Awareness is a little cheaper and easy to use."
"The Kaspersky Awareness program supports the Arabic language, which is one of the good points."
"We have been providing this solution to our customers for approximately three or four months, and our customers are really happy with it."
"Kaspersky Security Awareness has deep packet inspection and the ability to capture viruses."
"The nice thing about it is, if you want to try it, there is a POC available, so you can have a proof of concept."
"It is pretty detailed and covers very small points across the security domain, which I appreciate about it, and it's very easy to onboard with features such as SSO and enterprise level administration."
"Overall, I rate Kaspersky Security Awareness a ten out of ten and actively recommend it to others."
"The gamification aspect of Kaspersky Security Awareness is appreciated by many organizations, including mine, as it offers a fun learning experience."
"When I manage a SOC and Proofpoint Email Protection is integrated with it, it gives me a consolidated alert, so when phishing alerts come in it is slightly easier to manage, even my L1 incident response team from the SOC can easily understand the alerts, perform basic checks on VirusTotal, and create complete SOAR automation from that information."
"Proofpoint Email Protection has positively impacted my organization by making things safer; when we rolled it out, it gave us better filtering than the previous product that we were using, capturing a lot more of the malicious material and being easier to use."
"That is why I can consider Proofpoint Email Protection as a number one vendor for email security."
"Overall, we've been happy with the product and the results we've gotten."
"Proofpoint Email Protection is stable enough and does its job of virus, malware, and email scam detection. Setting it up is not too complicated."
"Proofpoint Email Protection has definitely impacted my organization positively."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to remove bad messages that were delivered, prior to being classified as unwanted."
"Compared to other products, Proofpoint's real-time threat intelligence makes it less noisy; they collect and share threat information effectively, which benefits all customers."

Cons

"While we have achieved compliance, the control over the program is limited."
"We face difficulties in configuring it, and other vendors may be more user-friendly."
"The GUI could be improved."
"There should be more of a drive from their side to promote the product."
"Kaspersky Security Awareness could improve its user interface since it looks outdated, even though the content is top-notch."
"Kaspersky Security Awareness needs improvement in its ability to detect unknown attacks or unknown zero traffic attacks."
"Given my other experience with other vendors, I think they are a bit on the high end and a bit on the pricey end for the email security functionality that we were using."
"I have noticed some lagging and issues with the Proofpoint Protection Server, which is not the cloud solution or the Admin Portal solution. It seems to lag quite a lot when we try to work with folders, quarantine folders, or configure anything in there."
"They do not have an on-demand scan for the internal viruses and internal users, and they don't have a scan for the exchange server against viruses and spam as Symantec does."
"Everything with Proofpoint Email Protection has room for improvement in my opinion."
"The false positives are an issue. There are many false positives that come in, which you report to Proofpoint."
"While Proofpoint is better, I find Abnormal to be much more effective because it uses an advanced AI engine to detect email spams and phishing."
"Proofpoint Email Protection provides a solution for user training, which I did not end up going with because I chose KnowBe4. That is the only part I did not appreciate about it."
"I believe they still need to improve by consolidating some portals, as currently, you have to log in separately to a few of them."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Although the price is acceptable and somewhat competitive, it would be better if it were cheaper."
"The more users there are, the cheaper the product is."
"The price is reasonable."
"They are competitively priced, but I have been forced to get quotes for other solutions now because they haven't been responding to requests to do the work that we would like them to do."
"Proofpoint Email Protection has comparable pricing."
"The solution is expensive."
"Annually, it costs us about $92,000. This is pretty much what it costs us. There is no additional cost."
"Proofpoint Email Protection is a reasonably priced product, which means that it is neither too low nor too high in terms of price."
"The end customer is buying our solution, which can be for monthly or annual usage depending on our payment and business model."
"The solution charges per user per month to use it. There are not any additional fees in addition to the standard living fees."
