Provides superior integration options and comprehensive reporting features
The product could benefit from enhanced integration capabilities with older software systems and more customizable reporting options. Improved support for mobile devices would also be advantageous, allowing team members to access the system more effectively while on the go. In the next release, we would like to see advanced analytics features, including predictive analytics to help forecast project outcomes. Additionally, a more robust mobile app with offline capabilities would be valuable for remote work scenarios.

Has small footprint and low maintenance cycles
Pre-installed tools can provide basic training and security measures, which is helpful. However, these tools may not be sufficient to secure your workload fully. That's why it's important to complement them with other specialized security tools to enhance your overall security. Before using Kali Linux, make sure you know its pros and cons. It's a good system to learn because it's the best choice for some situations. It has default firewall settings that block everything by default. It's up to the user to decide how much they want to open up. Learning Kali Linux takes time because it relies on command-line tasks instead of graphical interfaces. Practice is key to becoming comfortable with it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features include task tracking and reporting capabilities."
"I appreciate the features in JFrog DevOps Cloud Platform, especially the efficient file management where downloads and uploads are optimized, saving time. The storage efficiency is also great as it avoids redundancy, which is crucial for our team. It is also quite easy to use, especially for basic commands through the command line. It's straightforward for us internally, and our data is well-hosted on their servers, which makes data location and querying fast and efficient. Moving our storage to JFrog has streamlined our development cycle by eliminating duplicated data, which previously took up extra space locally. This efficiency is crucial for our workflow, although network speeds still play a significant role in performance."
"They have a professional service team that works alongside their engineering and performance teams."
"Additionally, it now includes comprehensive migration analytics and reporting capabilities."
"The most effective features of Kali Linux include its stability as a Linux operating system, its flexibility in configuring resources such as partitions, its powerful and stable file system, and its multi-user capability, which allows for setting user privileges and rights. Additionally, Kali Linux provides access to a wide range of free and open-source applications for testing and development purposes."
"The solution's stability is very good."
"The interface is good and straightforward to use."
"In general, Kali Linux is used for hosting applications, developing new applications, and operating systems. It's also used in containers and nodes. The tool offers a smaller footprint than Windows because it lacks the functionality of graphical user interfaces. One advantage of Kali Linux is its lower maintenance requirements than Windows, with slower update cycles and easier maintenance procedures."
"Kali Linux is much better than other OS because it gives you a good set of tools. It is preferred for vulnerability assessments and cybersecurity."
"I'm mostly using for the web security web application, so end map and the troubleshoot will it's my price, and it's available in ColliNX."
"The solution's most valuable feature is that it is very easy to use."

Cons

"The product could benefit from enhanced integration capabilities with older software systems and more customizable reporting options."
"Our locations are in different environments, so the remote server takes time to catch up, causing replication delays. The engineering team suggested that this issue would be resolved, but I'm not sure if it has been addressed yet. This is more of a feature enhancement that we suggested."
"We have encountered stability issues lately, particularly with frequent 500 internal server errors. Despite efforts from our DevOps team to adjust settings, these issues persist, affecting our workflow, especially with machine learning data uploads. Overall, while it's beneficial for storage and accessibility, stability issues need improvement for seamless operations. The occasional occurrence of internal server errors takes several minutes to resolve on their own and can disrupt workflows. Another concern is that sometimes files appear to be successfully uploaded, but then they cannot be downloaded, with no error message indicating the issue during the upload process. This inconsistency needs to be addressed by JFrog to ensure reliable functionality for users like us."
"The product should improve its security features."
"From an improvement perspective, it should be made possible for users to learn about the product easily."
"I would like to have automation in Kali Linux instead of manually configuring or setting up something in case of an upgrade."
"There can be some lagging issues because the product gets stuck at times, making it an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The installation process of Kali Linux can be slow, particularly when installing and upgrading packages within virtualized environments."
"The tool is already stable and well-developed, so there's minimal feedback for enhancement or change. However, it should improve security, which is crucial, especially with the increasing use of Kali Linux in cloud environments."
"Any new user or someone without deep expertise won't be able to understand how to scale or manage it"
"I would like for them to offer more features for the free version in order for users to test them in their internal environment before purchasing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Regarding pricing, I focus on the platform's interface and user communication rather than costs."
"The product pricing is competitive but worth negotiating for volume discounts or longer-term contracts."
"The licensing fee is expensive compared to other products."
"It is an open-source tool."
"Kali Linux is a free product, and you don't have to pay for a license."
"I have used the free version."
"I use it free of charge."
"There is no need to make any payments towards the licensing costs since it is a solution that is available for free."
"Kali Linux is open source."
"Kali Linux offers a perpetual license, meaning you pay for it once and can use it. While free versions of Linux are available, Kali Linux, being an enterprise edition, usually comes with a perpetual license. I rate its pricing a five out of ten."
