Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"There are many features. There is ease of deployment. You can deploy the Imperva Web Application Firewall in two to three minutes. After that, you have to set the policies. For setting policies, you have toggle buttons. You can turn something on or off.""The most important feature I have found to be the ease in how to do the backup and restores.""Imperva is easy to use and deploy. The UI is excellent.""The solution can scale.""Compared to other web application firewalls in the market, Imperva does things in the most accurate way.""Imperva Web Application Firewall is a highly stable solution and is very mature.""The solution is stable.""Imperva Web Application Firewall is stable."

"The initial setup was straightforward. Straight forward because the plugin can simply be installed and then it does its job. It's not complex, there is no learning curve. The online scan is simple, you put in the website address and the scan gives us a report on the browser itself. It's simple to use.""The initial setup was very easy.""It significantly eases the workload and streamlines the initial setup required to protect a website.""I use it as a WAF, which is basically a web firewall to monitor and block traffic to our web server.""Domain name scanning since it allows us to scan all our domain names and determine whether it has malware or if is reported as phishing.""The most valuable part is the analytics and visualization."

Cons
"I don't really use it and therefore can't speak to areas of improvement.""I would like to improve the tool's turnaround time in terms of support.""There's always room for improvement. Occasionally, there might be false-positive alerts.""The initial setup could be simplified. Every time you have to install the solution you have to get in touch with support or somebody that can to do that for you.""It's a complicated tool to keep.""It would be useful if the solution used more intelligence in attack protection. For example, firewalls are to be dependent on the configuration, but if they could have some data science around it the solution would be even better. The profiling of the traffic, and making decisions surrounding that should be intelligence-based, instead of being based on the configuration of the firewall itself.""Their portal is very limited and needs improvement.""It would be nice to have more security control over mobile applications so I would suggest adding more mobile security features. It would also be beneficial to see improvements in regards to interface bandwidth performance, CPU time, and RAM size. Learning capability of the device is quite weak."

"The main improvement I would like to see is support for .NET applications. If they could include this feature, I would include more sites in the protection.""It would greatly benefit customers if they implemented an online chat or messaging system for quicker assistance.""Sucuri could provide help for specific security alerts in-line instead of requiring users to search for it in the help section.""In terms of improvement, the cost factor is always there.""I would rate this solution an eight out of ten. The reason is that we have found sometimes customers or Google saying that there is something wrong with the website but Sucuri says that the site is clean so we do have to look at the site manually which means that the Sucuri scan does not pick up anything and everything.""Confident score: Currently it does not have one and there are cases that most websites flagged are false-positives."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Make sure you understand the way that Imperva charges. It's very affordable. However, I would like to see a package with the Virtual Patching included. You get to do patching separately."
  • "Everybody complains about the price of this solution."
  • "The cost of this solution depends on the platform."
  • "The price of this solution is a little bit high compared to competitors."
  • "There are some licenses that you have to buy to use some features. Its price could be better. Price is always important because, at the end of the day, customers have a budget. If you can meet the budget, you can sell, and if you don't, you cannot sell."
  • "There is a license for this solution and we purchase the license annually with no additional fees."
  • "There are a couple of different licensing models."
  • "The price of Imperva Web Application Firewalls is expensive compared to others."

  • "I’d simply say it’s really worth it."
  • "Sucuri offers different plans, both the standard plan and an advanced plan. So there are different plans to choose from."
  • "The ROI has been very good. Because of the solution, I have a tax break. The site developers were not always experienced people. We used to pay more for cleaning up the site when it was infected. Now, we have peace of mind knowing that the solution will clean up the site and that we won't have to go through the unnecessary process of restoring it from a backup. The protection on the WAF and the measures for backups have also prevented our site from going down."
  • "It stands out as a more cost-effective option compared to other cloud-based security services like Cloudflare or JetPass."

    Questions from the Community
Top Answer:For ADC, any ADC can do a good job. But in case if you want to add WAF functionality to the same ADC hardware you have to look for other ADC's like F5, Imperva, Radware, Fortinet, etc.
Top Answer:You can have a look to Imperva Cloud WAF, the anti-DDoS mitigation is under 1s and works very well. I observed a lot of DDoS attacks that were well managed (even not seen by the customer) by Imperva… more »
Top Answer:The initial setup was very easy.
Top Answer:The pricing is very reasonable. Sucuri offer other features as an add-on, such as backup, but these have an additional cost. We host the sites ourselves, so I don't take it because it was redundant.
Top Answer:The main improvement I would like to see is support for .NET applications. If they could include this feature, I would include more sites in the protection. In future releases, perhaps Sucuri could… more »
