With good integration and expansion capabilities, the tool also offers good technical support
It is a solution that we could expand in our company. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten. Our company has 400 users, all of whom have used it at one point or the other. All of the departments are involved in the usage of the tool.

Provides excellent internal communication and scalability
Scalability depends on the workload because SuperCluster is available in three models: small, medium, and high-end configurations. The high-end configuration is suitable for very large organizations. However, scalability is limited by the initial configuration. You can upgrade to medium or high configurations if starting with a small configuration. Expanding with a high-end configuration requires adding a new rack or configuring a new SuperCluster instance and integrating it with the existing setup. Approximately three thousand or more users can simultaneously access the SuperCluster.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I recommend this solution, I think it's easier to implement Converged than other solutions."
"This solution is very simple to use."
"The best feature of this solution is the backup system."
"The most valuable features of the solution are the flexibility and the availability of the machines."
"Consolidation and duplications features."
"This is a scalable solution; our customers begin with an initial configuration and later add more servers, memory, and other options to meet the demands of increased processing."
"Previously, with a traditional extract transform load process, it would take us three hours to load our large volume tables, now it takes us about ten minutes on SAP HANA on a ConvergedSystem platform."
"One of the valuable components in this solution is HPE Synergy, which is a useful tool for deployments and updates."
"SuperCluster is basically a combination of Oracle, with Exadata and Compute node features, so it is a computing cluster that is integrated in a single infrastructure such that we don't need a separate solution for the application database, the data storage database, and everything else the application needs."
"It is easy to integrate Supercluster into IT workflow. It has a forty-gigabit InfiniBand switch. It also includes Exadata and a very powerful M-series machine. These are not mainframe processors but provide excellent internal communication and scalability."
"When you look at SuperCluster's complete infrastructure as a whole and the fact that we can run the database and application all on the same infrastructure, I feel that SuperCluster is a better solution than most."
"One of the benefits of being with the SuperCluster is that it's all Oracle."
"I think it's a highly integrated, powerful system that will support thousands of users, so that's why it was selected."
"Scalability and technical support."
"Because SuperCluster is a specially engineered system, we have confidence in that all the components are compatible with one another. Everything runs together as a well-coupled group of machines, and the performance is great (especially the memory)."
"The promise of consolidation is still a strong selling point, especially if the prospective client has applications that run on SPARC and has its data store in an Oracle Database."

Cons

"This is an expensive solution and could be improved with lower pricing."
"HPE ConvergedSystem needs to improve its price."
"Technical support hasn't seemed to be that simple or that easy."
"The solution needs to add NFS features."
"Perhaps they can work on providing faster allocation of memory or storage."
"I would like to see monitoring solutions included, as well as brand support."
"I would like to see a full flash array added and the pricing improved, as HP is expensive."
"It could be enhanced by improving the built-in backup solution."
"Not a very user friendly solution."
"We have faced network connectivity issues."
"It's not working as we expected. We thought it would be fast and reliable but we are not getting the reliability. It's not stable."
"If you have a need to connect to a lot of stuff, you should perhaps look at other systems as well, not just Oracle SuperCluster, because it's very Oracle focused."
"I would like to see control domain and zone management via a management console, similar to that of OVM."
"Oracle SuperCluster M7 is bit expensive."
"It would be more convenient if the Agta Logic worked within the SuperCluster with the Agta data, as it may boost the speed of the applications."
"The problem with the scalability at this point is that, while it is field upgradable, in order to do a field upgrade at this point in time, the entire SuperCluster has to be rebuilt."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are some extra costs in addition to the licensing costs for the yearly maintenance from professional third-party services."
"I rate the product price an eight and a half on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"This is an expensive system and not every customer has the kind of budget to support it."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"Pricing is good. We have not calculated what hyper-converged infrastructure has brought us but I think there has to be some lower cost for us, compared to the public cloud. Obviously, there would be a lower cost, probably by more than half."
"The pricing is competitive. Not a major problem. We have a subscription model."
"The pricing is sensitive."
"My company has a five year contract for HPE ConvergedSystem. The contracts depend on companies and sometimes it can be three years. The solution is worth its price."
"Due to the multiple products involved in our use of SuperCluster (including different software, hardware, etc.), I cannot comment on the licensing aspect."
"For us, the licensing costs are a large amount, but we are also paying for the rack, the SLA, and other extras. When I look into our organization's requirements regarding performance, machine load, etc., I believe that, while expensive, SuperCluster is nevertheless good for us."
