Helps to create dashboards but improvement is needed in pricing and support

Proactive monitoring has improved query performance and now enables rapid root cause analysis
The best features SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer offers include a user-friendly interface, real-time analysis and support, and a wide range of supported databases. Out of these features, I find myself relying on the user-friendly interface the most because all the features that I mentioned are great. An intuitive user interface makes it very easy to use even for non-technical users. Additionally, there is quick, easy, and reliable performance troubleshooting available in real-time and historically. Machine learning anomaly analysis brings intelligence to go beyond traditional threshold-based analysis. Cross-platform database support provides wide support for a single pane of glass view into our environment. I also love the agentless architecture with the ability to scale from a few instances to thousands, with as low as one percent average overhead. SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer has positively impacted our organization because since we started using this tool, it has been very helpful in finding and fixing root causes of any inefficiencies and implementing preventive measures. It is a good tool because of faster output, and there is no need to buy the whole server product if you need only database-related monitoring. You can monitor multiple environments, which is an added benefit. Specific outcomes and metrics I have seen since using SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer include multi-vendor database monitoring capabilities that are great, with flexibility to run SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer on a relatively less configured server, and rich raw data for reporting. API integration with ticketing tools is also great.

Pros

"EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager helps us to build custom files."
"In IT, problems often occur in areas such as applications, web interfaces, or databases. The tool allows users to easily determine the root cause of these issues, whether they stem from the network layer, database layer, or elsewhere."
"SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer can help us identify issues we cannot see manually."
"The platform solves and prevents delays in receiving answers from databases."
"SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer has positively impacted our organization because since we started using this tool, it has been very helpful in finding and fixing root causes of any inefficiencies and implementing preventive measures."
"The most valuable feature of SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer is anomaly detection. It alerts you when things outside the norm are happening, and the feature that analyzes your indexes informs you if you have wide or overlapping indexes. It also helps identify SQL query bottlenecks, letting you know if something is taking longer than usual, if a query plan has changed, and if you need to update statistics. In terms of usage, it is straightforward to use, learn and understand. The patching process is smooth and explains each feature, including links to external resources for further reading."
"Monitoring is most valuable, and being able to know that there is an issue or problem and I need to go look is also valuable. So, monitoring and learning are the most important features."
"SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer helped us locate the performance issues quickly."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."

Cons

"The tool needs improvement in pricing and support."
"The solution should add little details on the server so that an independent team could easily do the implementation."
"There is room for improvement with the pricing of the platform."
"SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer should provide customization options allowing users to add different columns."
"It is capable, but I don't believe it has the right value matrix. It also depends on the budget of the company."
"The areas where it currently lags are in reporting and dashboarding. The reports and dashboards are somewhat static, and we cannot create custom dashboards for specific customer needs."
"Technical support for this solution needs to be improved."
"SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer is still lagging for monitoring the cloud instances of databases including Aurora DB and Cloud SQL DB."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the product cost can be high, especially for medium to small enterprises working on a tight budget, but for our organization, the cost is relatively competitive."
