Review summaries and opinions

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

ROI

Sentiment score
6.8
Denodo enhances ROI by speeding processes, improving strategic accuracy, reducing churn, and boosting customer loyalty within six months.
Sentiment score
6.5
Users experience benefits from Zapier's automation and cost savings, though calculating specific ROI can be challenging.
In a scenario where employing three resources for three months might cost approximately $18,000 to $20,000, Zapier provides substantial cost savings.

Customer Service

Sentiment score
7.2
Denodo's service and support are praised for expertise and promptness, but initial support and training need improvement.
Sentiment score
7.2
Mixed experiences with Zapier support: praised for responsiveness and knowledge, yet some note delays and lack of chat.
They have a good methodology for learning how to use the tool.
Denodo's customer support team is very competent and responsive.
If we raise a ticket, it can be resolved or addressed within a reasonable time frame, so support is good.
Their technical support is good; they respond promptly and are very helpful.
This can help if you need assistance, as you can communicate with the community and support system, and most issues are already resolved by AI.
Sometimes, in my early days, when I was stuck with something, they helped me solve these issues, and even helped me solve some of my automations.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score
7.5
Denodo offers scalable architecture with successful integration and deployment, overcoming financial and query delegation challenges to ensure performance.
Sentiment score
7.6
Zapier is ideal for small businesses prioritizing simple tasks, though costs and stability may concern larger organizations.
For huge data requests, it cannot scale automatically; admin action is required.
While the solution scales well on a single machine, I have doubts about its scalability when deployed as part of a Java component cluster.
Its complexity in configuring and the requirement to install different connectors for different sources affects its scalability.
Zapier is suitable for small or simpler automation but not for complex ones.
Scaling it gets quite expensive, and while I cannot evaluate it purely from a technology perspective, compared to Workato, I would give Zapier a seven for scalability.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
6.9
Denodo is stable, handles stress well, but faces occasional challenges with complex queries and external dependencies.
Sentiment score
6.9
Users find Zapier reliable, with minor issues often linked to third-party tools, and rate stability highly for varied needs.
I would rate it nine out of ten because it is very reliable, always performing as expected.
If JVM does not function properly, it may cause Denodo to fail to connect to different sources.
In my current company, we had significant challenges with Zapier regarding maintenance, as Zaps were often broken, not necessarily due to Zapier, but due to changes in the input variables.

Room For Improvement

Denodo requires improvements in data catalog, integration, modernization, connectivity, security, performance, visualization, documentation, and user-friendliness.
Zapier users face issues with Google Sheets, insufficient integrations, complex workflows, high costs, and limited customization and support.
Ensuring data caching is up to date is critical.
Denodo needs better communication on how the product can be deployed for specific solutions.
The system has dependencies on other environments, like JVM, which can affect its performance.
The error message options in the dashboard should be improved. It should be user-friendly so that beginners or non-technical users can figure out the problems and solutions on their own.
You can build similar or dependent automations in one Zap, which helps with understanding the process without switching between different records.
I would appreciate if there would be a feature where we can use actions right after loops. Currently, you cannot use any other action after the loop. Everything needs to be within the loop.

Setup Cost

Denodo's pricing is expensive but fair for enterprises, with various editions and licensing often based on CPU or core.
Enterprise buyers find Zapier cost-effective for its integrations, despite some viewing it as pricier than alternatives.
Denodo is considered pricey, limiting its use to large enterprises or government organizations that can afford its comprehensive setup.
Denodo's pricing is not affordable for small companies and is more suitable for medium to large enterprises.
The pricing is in accordance with market standards and even lower in some cases.
The pricing of Zapier is slightly higher compared to other market automation tools such as Pabbly, Make.com, and N8N, which have good features but are priced lower than Zapier.

Valuable Features

Denodo offers efficient data virtualization with robust integration, optimized queries, and secure access, enhancing analytics and data management.
Zapier offers over 20,000 integrations, automating workflows without coding, enhancing productivity with user-friendly, drag-and-drop functionality.
Denodo's ability to connect to multiple data sources and perform extract-transform-load (ETL) operations on the fly is noteworthy.
The most valuable feature of Denodo is its uniformity of self-site data access types, which allows it to connect to almost any storage technology and feed it transparently.
Denodo supports SQL base, so if you want to join two tables or two views, you can use SQL, which is an advantage as most developers or business people know SQL.
They have approximately 7,000 connections.
Even a person with no technical knowledge can use Zapier to create automations.
The automation capabilities are impressive.

Enable efficient AI and ML development through a unified virtual data environment
The most valuable feature in Denodo is data virtualization. This feature focuses on creating a virtualized data environment that allows for simpler connections between data sources and systems. It significantly eases the process of developing AI and ML strategies by centralizing access to various data sources and allowing algorithms to efficiently connect to and utilize data.
Awais Mehmood - PeerSpot reviewer
Error message clarity needs improvement but third-party integrations facilitate automation
I would to improve the integration between Zapier and Notion since Notion did not allow it previously. One issue I experienced was that when Zapier did not automate or threw an error, the error was not user-friendly. I searched extensively in browsers and the Zapier community to find solutions. The error page or the Zapier error message should be user-friendly, and the error message should relate to the user so they can easily understand the error and solve that specific problem. The error message options in the dashboard should be improved. It should be user-friendly so that beginners or non-technical users can figure out the problems and solutions on their own.
