Enhancing security and efficiency through robust secret management
With the merging of Thycotic and Centrify into Delinea, it has combined strengths of both products into a single package. Thycotic was strong in certain areas and Centrify in others, and now Delinea integrates these features. I have experience with solutions like CyberArk, BeyondTrust, and Delinea. CyberArk, Delinea, and BeyondTrust are pushing onto cloud-based solutions.

Has improved credential security with remote password change and role-based access
I have not faced any significant issues with Delinea Secret Server during this period of time, but we had a problem with a web password filler, which is a template used for accessing a web URL using Secret Server, where we faced some session management issues since session management is not applicable for the web password filler. This should be the improvement that we require from Delinea Secret Server. The session management is not applicable in this case; we can manage the session and have session management inside the remote systems within the organization. However, when it comes to web-related access, we can access directly through Delinea Secret Server. We can access any URL through Secret Server, but the problem is that the session cannot be managed on the web URL due to it having multiple systems. I do not have any other recommendations regarding the improvement of Delinea Secret Server at this time.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Delinea Privileged Access Service's UI part was very user-friendly for secure credential storage and management."
"There are benefits in the security realm. We use Delinea at an enterprise level. I imagine there are productivity gains, but moreover, it's the security. We don’t enable staff to see the passwords of boxes but it's all being tracked and logged now."
"Delinea has very good support."
"If somebody is looking for a straightforward PAM that is easy to deploy then I would recommend Centrify."
"The most valuable feature of Delinea Privileged Access Service is we can use the server as a jump host. It is simple to manage the accounts on the system."
"Delinea has very good support, rating them an eight or nine out of ten."
"The most valuable feature is the author's discovery of assets because it helps keep track of inventory."
"This is a cloud-based application, which makes it very easy to deploy."
"The most valuable feature of Delinea Secret Server is secret password management."
"Delinea Secret Server offers features similar to CyberArk and BeyondTrust, such as maintaining and securing privileged passwords and session monitoring."
"Delinea can do it all, so I strongly recommend it."
"The user interface is quite good. It's very straightforward."
"Before this solution, people had their own passwords stored in different areas and when something was needed we could not find the right person that had the right password, which meant quite a lot in migration scenarios, but with this solution, everyone knew what tools to use and where to put the password and who gives access to that password and then we could have reports on who has access to different passwords so that we could do audits."
"I would rate Thycotic Secret Server a 10 out of 10 because I am not familiar with any products that are capable of going on-prem and have a superior function set."
"It works for us."
"Delinea Secret Server is a stable solution."

Cons

"It is difficult to integrate the product with other IT systems."
"There needs to be a notification when a password is near expiration because we have experienced multiple lockouts due to expired passwords."
"Although the interface is intuitive, it could be a little more user-friendly."
"I would like for there to be a suitable solution to deploy a low-spec version for desktop password management to all our staff."
"This solution needs better integration with third-party solutions because their ability to support other tools is very weak."
"Enhancing the solution by incorporating additional features to make it comprehensive would be beneficial. It would be more convenient to have a complete package solution that consolidates all the features in one place, making it easier to manage. Currently, I am required to access two separate servers for reports, which could be avoided if all the necessary features were available in a single location. This would be highly advantageous for managing everything effectively."
"The initial setup is a bit complex, but once the infrastructure is there and all the components have been installed, it's easy and straightforward to maintain."
"The initial setup is a bit complex."
"We always ask for partner enablement, which is more like a soft requirement rather than a product requirement. It would be great if they can provide us deeper knowledge of their products for integration."
"Availability of technical support has always been a concern."
"Having more detailed reporting would improve this solution."
"The integration with the ticketing system ServiceNow is complex."
"My only negative thing to say about Thycotic would involve the servicing not having been written for 2019."
"What needs improvement? The product can be improved by reducing the number of updates provided."
"An area for improvement in Delinea Secret Server is its integration with ICAP servers."
"When Delinea upgrades the tool, it rejects our password, saying that it is not compliant and strong."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is priced too high, so I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"The price model is based on the number of devices and opposed to the number of users, and it is not very flexible."
"The pricing is moderate."
"The price of Delinea Privileged Access Service is average compared to its competitors."
"It is sad that people with a limited budget won't be able to afford it."
"The product comes at a very good price and it's quite competitive, although you need to buy add-ons for certain things."
"In addition to the license fees, we have to pay for the server and admin fees."
"The price is cheap if I compare Delinea Privileged Access Service with other products."
"It would be beneficial if it were reduced."
"It isn't terribly expensive."
"The price of this solution is good."
