Complex setup process impacts functionality and requires improvement
From my experience as a VP of sales, I was not involved directly with development and configuration, but every time I need some change in our strategy and data, it takes a lot of time from our development team or technical team to implement this change. It is not easy to add columns or information in the reports or in the information that I gathered from Data Cloud. It takes a lot of time, and it was not exactly what I was expecting. I had a project that required changing the views that I need from my team, and it took two to three months to make the change. It was just a simple click of a button and adding some information, so what I was expecting to take one or two weeks took three months. It was very complicated to implement in the beginning, and it took a lot of time. It is a very good product, but it is very complex to implement, change, develop, and integrate.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I rate my experience with Data Cloud a nine out of ten."
"We never had a problem with stability."
"The solution can be customized for individual projects and quite easy to use."
"All of the features are valuable. Especially, creating tickets for projects and assigning workers. Having trackable conversations and archive items for reference. We offer our customers a live update of their project by sharing a board directly with them. This allows them to comment or submit documents directly to Monday.com."
"The handling and administration of Monday.com are manageable even for beginners."
"Timeline and countdown systems have been great for us as well as the ability to "@" team members in comment sections to have collaborative conversations, give feedback, and share files."
"Creating super-smart to-do lists, intern management, and sales leads lists has been huge."
"The stability is good."
"We use the status column quite frequently and the search bar to easily find specific customers and orders."
"The structure it has, the sites, the boards, and how easily you can transfer information from one place to the other is great."

Cons

"Customizability is both an advantage and a disadvantage. While it provides a suitable solution with many pieces to integrate, it also adds complexity."
"It is a very good product, but it is very complex to implement, change, develop, and integrate."
"The addition of subtasks was really great. It helps reduce a lot of the clutter on our boards. However, sometimes it is inhibitive to use them as the features available using main tasks don't apply to subtasks."
"Perhaps a nice Outlook plugin to copy tasks from Outlook would be beneficial. The same could work on Gmail."
"The web page can be a bit buggy at times, especially after I switch to a different tab and then come back to the Monday site after leaving it idle for a few minutes."
"They need to add more data values and fields, such as currency and functional fields, as well as more trigger functionality for automation and time-based management."
"It would be so cool to have live chat with team members when needed instead of having three different apps for work-related tasks."
"If there was a way for Monday.com to take over, or interface with, my inbox, such that my email messages became associated with a particular task, group, or board, that would be incredibly useful."
"The product can be improved by allowing for some sort of autonomous deadline creation."
"Expanding the analysis to contain all boards in a specific folder without having to add them manually would be ideal."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
"The product is not expensive."
"I think monday.com's paywalls are a little too high. Some basic features are locked behind the premium subscription. Some applications they offer within their subscription model are locked in an expensive package. These applications provide functionality that would benefit small teams, but it's too much money for a startup or a small business."
"Though I am unsure about the product's pricing plan, there is a need to make monthly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution, and it operates on a per-user plan."
"We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."
"There are features that they're putting in the Enterprise plan that you have to pay for the Enterprise plan to use those features. The Enterprise plan is probably double or triple the Pro plan price, or it may be two and a half times. From a business standpoint, I don't like the fact that I have to pay two and a half times more to use a particular feature."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten."
"The pricing is totally fair. I don't have any issues with it."
