We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""The price is low and quite competitive with others.""he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features.""Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration.""The stability is very good.""It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain.""It is stable and scalable."

"I haven't had any issues with the solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""Cybereason's threat hunting and investigation are the most valuable features. Threat hunting is a user-friendly feature that keeps you safe. Investigation offers an added value that I haven't seen with other EDR services. It allows you to find specific policy problems within your environment.""Immediately we can pick up the computers in the network if any malicious operation that is triggered.""The initial setup is not overly complicated.""It gives all the information in a clear response.""We didn't have the visibility that we now have. It has increased our visibility by a lot. So, we put a lot more time into really looking at our environment and what is happening throughout our different networks. It has increased our visibility by around fivefold.""The initial setup process is straightforward.""The interface is user-friendly."

"Panda Security solution has a feature to block any unknown process and that is what is best about it.""The most valuable features of Panda Security Adaptive Defense are the useful hardware information it provides, light on resources, controllable from the console, remote scan functionality, and the blocking of a lot of URL malware.""Adaptive Defense is pretty easy to use, and Panda support is excellent.""The most valuable features of the solution stem from the fact that I like the tool's UI, ease of management, ease of making reports, and the ability to export information easily.""The product so far has been good at protecting us. We haven't faced a breach.""It offers an easy initial setup.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its device control.""I like the Panda Security Adaptive Defense cloud usages. Everything is on a single plane of glass like the dashboards. I also like the information I can get about the computers itself."

Cons
"The SIEM could be improved.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""Detections could be improved.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""ZTNA can improve latency.""Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"What needs to improve in Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response and what I'd like to see in its next release is a centralized dashboard that allows you to view what is there, similar to what's on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager: a beautiful display and reporting. Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response has to start with the compliance, the homepage, etc. Everything should be there and should be customizable. The options should be there. The tool is very good currently, but visibility for IT administrators is lacking and needs to be worked on.""It should be more stable, and the sensor needs improvement in terms of connectivity.""There can be problems with the EDI.""Reporting could be a bit more granular so that we had the ability to check regions and countries. I just noticed that, for instance, if I look at our servers, it's either "contained" or it's "not contained". I don't have the option, for instance, to look at countries. It only allows me to look at users as one big group.""They need to improve their technical support services.""Compared to our previous endpoint, we have a lot more false positives and a lot more duplication of alerts. So we're chasing more alerts.""Cybereason does not have sandbox functionality.""The integration with Microsoft solutions and Microsoft capabilities needs to be improved."

More Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response Cons →

"It would be nice if Panda Security Adaptive Defense could come out with remote desktop usage.""The stability could be improved. My teammates who use Panda Security and I have experienced some issues.""Needs a better way to scan the hardware to detect whether it's valid.""I would like to see better data protection.""Panda Security Adaptive Defense is stable. However, when updates are being done on the computers we can experience some troubles because the computers need to be restarted. When we start the computers they are not functioning correctly and we have not received proper feedback regarding this random issue.""The solution should have additional endpoint protection.""I'd like to integrate it into my main services.""They need to expand their offering of add-ons to enhance capabilities further."

  • "In terms of pricing, it's a good solution."
  • "This product is somewhat expensive and should be cheaper."
  • "We considered a few other solutions. Some were ridiculously overpriced, while others didn't have solutions for Mac endpoints. That was a deal-breaker because most of our organization is on Mac. It came down to two vendors: Cybereason and another. They had similar pitches and almost identical approaches, but in the end, Cybereason gave us the best value for our money."
  • "I had to go through a third-party to purchase it, which I wasn't really pleased about."

  • "The licensing costs are not too high. We pay about 20 Euros a year. It's a reasonable amount to pay."
  • "I don't think Panda's license is too expensive, but they're charging more than it's worth. It's a yearly license. For 1,000 endpoints, it's around $18,000."
  • "There is a license needed to use this solution and it is approximately $30 annually."
  • "The solution is priced well for what features it provides."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
