A stable solution that helps to provision servers
We use the solution to provision servers.  I am impressed with the product's ability to create dynamic catalogs.   The solution's provisioning engine needs to be improved.  I would rate the solution's stability an eight out of ten.  I would rate the product's scalability a seven out of ten and…

Centralized dashboards have optimized multi-cloud costs and improved financial governance
VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth is a powerful cloud management platform, but there are areas for improvement. I would prefer to see more AI-driven insights that not only recommend optimization but also suggest automated remediation actions. Real-time cost synchronization could be faster, as billing data sometimes has delays. More customized dashboards and report templates would help teams tailor their needs better. Kubernetes cost visibility could be more granular for centralized workloads. Integration with ITSM and automation tools such as ServiceNow and Ansible could be enhanced. Simplifying initial onboarding and policy configuration would also improve the experience for new users. These enhancements would make the platform even more efficient for enterprise cloud operations. This tool is a mature and relevant cloud management platform with several areas that could be enhanced. I would prefer to see more advanced AI capabilities providing predictive insights and automated remediation for common optimization tasks. Better, faster synchronization of cloud billing and utilization data would enable near real-time cost monitoring. I want more customizable dashboards and executive reports tailored for different stakeholders such as FinOps, infrastructure, and management teams. Improving Kubernetes container cost visibility at the pod level is also necessary. I would prefer to see stronger AI-driven automation, faster real-time cost updates, more customizable dashboards, deeper Kubernetes cost visibility, enhanced DevOps integrations, and a simpler onboarding process as areas needing improvement. These enhancements would further increase operational efficiency and make the platform more valuable for enterprise cloud management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is compatible and integrates with various infrastructures or providers."
"Red Hat CloudForms is a stable product. There is no issue with the stability."
"The optimization of the solution is quite interesting, as it means we can prepare a bunch of VMs with self-service provisioning."
"The integration with other open-source tools is pretty good; it integrates particularly well with Kubernetes and Docker, and they are a very mature product."
"The optimization of the solution is quite interesting."
"I am impressed with the product's reports."
"Red Hat CloudForms is stable once it is up and running."
"They are a very mature product."
"The product is easy to use in terms of monitoring all the environments. It works for multiple clouds."
"The most valuable thing I have found is the cost saving recommendations."
"The solution is good for cloud cost management."
"The solution is useful for cloud transparency and visibility in reports and dashboards that I have generated, especially the pre-populated dashboards."
"Customers do utilize a security and compliance framework with VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth because larger institutions won't move forward without it, and they choose VMware to ensure a tested and foolproof secure environment that complies with regulatory standards such as VMware Cloud Foundation with its trust policies, making it quite good."
"We use dashboards quite heavily, but one of the features that have really stood out is some of the policies we've created to alert us of particular situations."
"With this, we have right-sized many instances, removed many unused EBS volumes, and unused Elastic IPs, and in that way, we have cut around 20% of cost."
"We are able to create an internal price of the product that we can then sell to clients. We get the cost plan at a good discount and then resell it with a mark up to our enterprise-level clients. This flexibility in pricing is one of the solution's best features."

Cons

"The solution is still quite immature."
"I have issues with the solution's permissions. Unlike VMware, the product doesn't allow folder-type permissions."
"The complexity of the solution is a bit high in comparison to VMware."
"Our clients had challenges or issues with the updates. Its updates should be better managed."
"The solution's provisioning engine needs to be improved."
"Because the solution needs to integrate with other products that surround it, there is a lot of configuration required, and this can be quite complex. It's not as easy as it is with, for example, VMware."
"Red Hat CloudForms could improve by allowing more customization of reports. We have to do a lot of coding to accomplish what we want. Additionally, the compatibility with the multi-cloud could improve. The latter versions of the solution removed Google support and the cost comparison between other clouds was high."
"The problem is that the platform requires it to be maintained and updated. Also, a few cases are still pending with the Red Hat support team since they are not closed yet."
"Real-time cost synchronization could be faster, as billing data sometimes has delays."
"Apptio Cloudability has better granular visibility of data that is missing in CloudHealth."
"The Perspectives feature could be better. I would like to have more automation and flexibility to put in data and react to a certain event."
"When you start to virtualize things it gets very expensive."
"It would be helpful to have a mobile version or a tablet version, especially for people who are outside of the office."
"Some companies may not be capable of affording this product."
"The export features regarding CSV files and specifically around identifying savings plans have room for improvement, as well as the drill-down features for reservation utilization."
"The solution doesn't offer the best functionality, unfortunately. Some features just simply aren't on offer. The solution needs to offer more product milestones."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Red Hat CloudForms has a subscript-based pricing model. The cost is approximately $20,000 annually which allows you to use as many users as you want."
"The price of Red Hat CloudForms was not competitive, it was expensive."
"It is definitely cheaper than VMware. Everything is included. There is no challenge there."
"Red Hat CloudForms is a bit expensive."
"The product's licensing is based on the number of servers."
"There could be flexibility in pricing for the product."
"I give the cost of the solution an eight out of ten."
"The licensing fees depend on how big the company is. If you are a larger company then you have a better contract with a better price. The price is different for a small company."
"CloudHealth has a subscription-based model."
"The pricing is competitive and while other products are good they are considerably more expensive."
