Reliable Wi-Fi has consistently supported our restaurant, hotel, conferences, and offices
All the features are the same for all of them. The main difference we realized is that Cisco works better than Cambium Networks Wireless LAN, and it is obviously easier to manage as well. Meraki products are better than Cambium Networks Wireless LAN because the quality of the Wi-Fi is better, and it is easier to manage.

Offers visibility and cost benefits
The tool has given us more visibility, but I'm not very technical, so I can't comment on specific features. However, the diagnostic tools for identifying system issues have greatly improved, which we appreciate. We still use Cisco ICE for authentication on the Juniper network, as we did before. We've seen cost benefits with the Juniper WLC Series, which was a key factor in our decision-making during the proof of concept. Besides cost improvements, we've also noticed better resolution of issues and faults in our help desk, thanks to the enhanced features.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cambium Networks Wireless LAN was well-priced and offered a controllerless setup, which was more unusual at the time we first used them. This meant they could operate independently without a controller, unlike many other products that required a controller."
"Our company started with the solution ten or so years ago and after that, we developed fast."
"They have excellent support."
"Meraki products are better than Cambium Networks Wireless LAN because the quality of the Wi-Fi is better, and it is easier to manage."
"Cambium, in my opinion, completely outperforms them."
"If I implement Cambium, it has a lot of features, the main advantage is that Cambium provides a five-year warranty on all the devices and it can be managed from cloud cnMaestro, which is free of cost, therefore, it helps save an organization on costs."
"We can scale it if we need to."
"They all have controllers built in, and we manage them all with a web-based management tool."
"Allows end users to roam the office and be productive wireless without being plugged into an Ethernet cable."
"The AI integration with Marvis is very valuable."
"It is a very stable solution."
"It prevents a large number of unauthorized modifications of access point devices."
"The tool has given us more visibility, but I'm not very technical, so I can't comment on specific features. However, the diagnostic tools for identifying system issues have greatly improved, which we appreciate. We still use Cisco ICE for authentication on the Juniper network, as we did before. Besides cost improvements, we've also noticed better resolution of issues and faults in our help desk, thanks to the enhanced features."
"The Artificial Intelligence on offer is very useful."
"Customer service is very good, and they have very experienced engineers on the site I worked on."
"Juniper WLC Series is a very high-performance device designed for indoor wireless deployment."

Cons

"We would like this product to have more information data sheets available. At present we cannot easily access details around the full capability of a piece of equipment."
"If they could include some sort of web filtering, in-built antivirus, anti-malware, and data stream scanning in the next release."
"The capacity and coverage could be improved."
"Cambium's initial price is a problem because it is more expensive than the others, but if you calculate the total cost of ownership over three years, Cambium probably works out better because there are no license fees."
"Obviously, one of the reasons we're getting ready to upgrade the equipment is that it's five years old."
"I believe there's room for improvement in the configuration options for point-to-point setups directly from the cloud management interface. Currently, the process feels a bit clunky—you monitor the unit in the cloud but need to make configuration changes by editing a text file, then downloading it back to the unit. This method can be error-prone, as even a small mistake in the text file could disrupt the unit's configuration."
"Our areas for improvement would be a refresh with the most recent technology available."
"The solution’s technical support could be faster."
"The biggest issue was that Juniper stopped developing, so we had to look for another solution."
"Juniper lacks a network access control agent similar to solutions like Alubakya Path and Cisco ISE."
"The solution could offer more integration with other products."
"Juniper WLC Series has certain shortcomings in traffic monitoring."
"WLCv was a product at the being of its evolution, so there was room for improvement there."
"There could be more information from the controller, and it could be easier to work with the controller lights. It's not easy to bring up the upgrades."
"In my region, access to the product is very difficult and presents a logistical nightmare. Also, pricing is a big problem and a barrier to entry when selling Juniper against competitors."
"The support on offer to other vendors switching - like Aruba or Ruckus - could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing costs for this solution are calculated per asset, and depending on the model of the equipment, it starts at $230, and goes up to roughly $1,200. The benefit of this solution is that there are no hidden costs; no cost for managing the equipment, and no cost for maintaining the equipment during its usable lifetime."
"If one is a high price and ten is a low price, I rate the product price as one."
"It's a good price, but not the best price. It's on the higher end of what I would call affordable for small to medium-sized businesses."
"Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is cheaper than Aruba."
"I rate the product's pricing an eight out of ten."
"I would place it in the mid-range market segment, balancing affordability and profitability."
"High-end products from Cambium PTP, point-to-point radio, maybe cost around $1000 per year."
"The pricing for Cambium Networks Wireless LAN is much cheaper than Meraki. For example, I have to pay $200 for one AP from Cambium, while for a Meraki AP, I have to pay $450 including the user license. Meraki has a higher price over Cambium Networks Wireless LAN."
"The licensing cost is quite high, but considering it's an enterprise solution, the complexity justifies the price."
"The product is relatively affordable for enterprise companies."
"There is a certain amount that needs to be paid towards the licensing charges associated with the product, but though I am not sure, I feel the licenses that we have in our company are for three years."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable."
"Juniper WLC Series is a bit pricey but worth its cost."
