Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Integrates well, highly stable, and scalable
CA Asset Portfolio Management can improve the uploading of batch information. I have to upload large amounts of information and it can take a long time to finish. There are some other solutions that are better, such as Micro Focus. We have approximately 10,000 PCs that we are busy processing and we have to upload information to them but when we use this solution it is complex. When we use Micro Focus it is better.

We often communicate with the technical support of Flexera One, and they are providing a good service to us. We are raising cases for the SKU-based library of Flexera One. Suppose there are SKUs which are not recognized. We raise a case with them asking if they could please recognize this SKU or add this SKU to the SKU library. We are in touch with them. Suppose we are not understanding any feature of Flexera One, then we are asking them for a one-to-one call. They interact with us and easily tell us things which we can understand. I will give it a 10 for the technical support of Flexera One on a scale from one to ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It improved the task performance at a team level and improved productivity."
"Object cloning with an option to enter wildcard selection was very useful when working in a web application that generated dynamic HTML content."
"Automation Anywhere is a great tool."
"We have worked with various tools over many years and we believe that Automation Anywhere is one of the most stable platforms."
"Automation Anywhere offers better value and is more effective for organizations seeking cost-effective solutions."
"The time savings from using Document Automation are substantial, as previously a team of about five to ten people managed specific processes end-to-end, such as processing fourteen thousand entries in a month, but after automation, that entire process is streamlined, saving us a lot of FTEs."
"Overall, I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten."
"It is very easy to use and learn compared to a programming language, where you have to have a background in coding. Anyone can learn it. Learning the software is easy."
"Also, the software you have, you can monitor for end of life. If you have software that is end of life, then you can have it uninstalled and buy the new software, so you can make sure that you're not running into vulnerabilities with unsupported software in your environment."
"Being able to determine the licensing position for existing vendors and future vendors. Also, visibility into our environment,"
"When we chose the CA product, it was the best product for all the tasks we had to do."
"You could also look for software that is no longer being used and you can re-deploy the software, so then you save from a purchasing standpoint because you don't have to buy the software again."
"From an implementation standpoint, and what we've seen so far of what it can do, I'd say we're extremely satisfied."
"IT Asset manager is centralized inventory software for computer hardware and software asset of the organization."
"My organization now understands what type of products they have: warranties, how long the warranties last, depreciation; we never really knew what our depreciation values were, so it was really nice to have that on hand as well, and it gives us a better view of our hardware, which is really beneficial."
"This product has added value to our organization by our increased ability to track assets, status, and lifecycle as well as being able to monitor assets when they are active."
"The feature that I find most valuable in Flexera One is the discovery, which is crucial from an ITAM point of view to capture the entire environment and all the software installed in my customer's environment."
"Sometimes I see cost savings in excess of 40 to 60 percent, with resources also in the same percentage area, depending on what the use case is and how much work and preparation was put into actually designing it appropriately for the use of the tool, as the more that had to get cleaned up or adjusted, the percentages could certainly even increase more."
"I recommend it highly."
"Flexera One helps us gain more customers because we are able to look after customer assets, which is really good."
"I like the way that Flexera connects our contracts to our purchases."
"The best thing about FlexNet Manager for my clients is its strong grip on managing licenses and ensuring they stick to their contracts."
"So the solution has a really great licensing module, and they're constantly keeping up with the newest trends."
"Flexera One helps us maintain a clear picture of our finances, showing what software we have purchased this year and what we should purchase next year."

Cons

"There are a few features that we would love to have: running on the cloud, running on Linux, out of the box integration availability with larger ecosystems like Salesforce, Workday, or Microsoft."
"There is an issue with the object cloning in Excel. OCR is also not that stable. Image recognition works fine, but not all the time."
"The Help menu/description can be provided while hovering over actions so that it can help us better to know them."
"In the version that we have, there are some challenges with the browser-based applications, the cloning of the objects, and the solution's stability."
"The GUI can be improved by making it more user-friendly."
"Another feature that would be cool to see in Automation Anywhere is more use of artificial intelligence. Right now, RPA is basically limited to a bot which is simply following the instructions that it was given. However, what would be really useful is if a bot was able to more flexibly respond to issues. For example, sometimes there are erroneous errors and pop ups. With good code, you can certainly build your bots to be able to handle that. However, it does take time and a bit of technical know-how to be able to do that."
"The support and user community need improvement. For example, it would be nice to have a place for those who create bots to have a place to share information and success stories."
"Room for improvement is more on the IQ Bot side: How quickly we can adopt and deploy it?"
"Needs a stronger reporting component, and more integration with CA Client Automation."
"One additional improvement – the reporting aspect in SAM is poor; we need different reporting for different purposes – compliance reporting for executive management and the product teams."
"Complex software to understand at the beginning."
"There were a lot of things that we had to prepare for that we weren't thinking about with this installation. I think from a CA standpoint, the software was good. But us preparing for that, we had a lot more work to do."
"CA SAM is not a CA product. The vendor is Aspera and CA is the distributor, so support is difficult. It's more difficult to get a good response."
"It needs stronger rebooting components and the ability to develop our own software metrics."
"Very complex to setup with Human Resource, help desk, procurement, and supply chain systems."
"The UI, even though they upgraded the UI, it's still kind of dated, it's a little bit convoluted to use. It's not like something that you can sit down and automatically understand how to use it."
"The mainframe need improvement."
"While it shows various configurations regarding where my server and VM are placed, it does not indicate how many licenses are needed or how the calculations are performed."
"The hardware and connectors in the product have certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"Flexera One is an amazing tool, but I feel the UI could have some more upgrades and look a bit more modern with all these applications coming up."
"Regarding the price, I feel the price is a bit high."
"They could improve their reporting. I'd particularly like them to allow you to schedule it."
"Flexera One does not have an agent for it, so it can't report on mainframe usage."
"There is room for improvement in the purchasing module. There are things I would change in that. Also, the automation components, like having the contracts, scheduling, and notifications embedded into the application, which they've been promising to do since 2014."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing and licensing are definitely moderate to costly but easily recoverable by achieving ROI quickly."
"Because it reduced the time duration of our processes, our costs went down."
"We're on a license package with Automation Anywhere (AA), paid yearly. What would be better is for them to have different packages for different types of organization."
"They are already coming out with a community license, which is really good. That's something that I wish to have."
"The licensing cost is approximately $4,000 USD, which is a seed license."
"The price for Automation Anywhere is reasonable."
"There is an annual subscription for Automation Anywhere."
"Its price is competitive with all other products in the market."
