Stable platform with valuable case management capabilities
We use Everest Blueriq for a food safety organization, that revolves around automating and managing complex processes critical to ensuring food safety and compliance. It involves monitoring containers for pests and diseases before allowing entry into the EU. The platform plays a vital role in…

Reduces costs with hardware abstraction and simplifies scaling
There is an issue where, in some situations, I need to scale up by observing both CPU and memory usage of containers, yet under the current options available at Amazon, this is not possible. I have to choose between monitoring CPU or memory to scale my solution. Not every software is built for deployment as a container service, although the current architecture trend is changing this.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The biggest benefit of using the product is identifying the issues, enabling a more flexible working method."
"One reason we selected Camunda or Cloud/DB is that it comes with the support of the BPMN notation, which helps to define processes in a standard manner. Another reason was that Camunda Cloud, as the name says, is designed for a new cloud era."
"It is quite easy to build a simple process without any knowledge of programming."
"We have a lot of users, almost 1,800, and we needed something affordable, stable and something that could be used by a large financial company. This solution truly fit the bill."
"The architecture is good because it's a headless workflow. I can create my own frontend, and it's fully API-based."
"I can use any other tools to create services and the UI, and then use them together with the Camunda BPMN engine."
"There's this graphic that tells you how many lines or how many tickets are in each step. In that way, you know where you stand. I find this feature very valuable."
"We can share, discuss, and develop the model together — from a distance. It's really helped us during these times of isolation."
"It is open-source. It supports microservice orchestration. This is what we are really interested in. We can customize our products depending on the use cases."

Cons

"The platform's initial setup process could be better."
"Initial setup can be quite complex."
"The cockpit features of the Camunda Platform can be improved to make it a bit more user-friendly, in terms of providing a bit more user experience for non-technical users. There could be some additional documentation added."
"While it's very scalable, it would be great if auto-scaling capabilities were added to it... one area that really could help out would be to have dynamic resizing of the cluster. Right now, you have to do capacity planning."
"Documentation can be improved."
"The latency of API could be decreased."
"The deployment model could be improved for easier implementation."
"The solution's pricing and scalability could be improved."
"The business model could be easier to understand."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The product's price depends on the number of processes that need to be automated or where the orchestration part needs to be used. The product is affordable for medium and large enterprises."
"Its price is decent. Everything is included in the license. The Community version is also good to start with. We are using the Community version."
"Camunda is much cheaper."
"The open-source version of the product is free to use."
"There is a bit of scope for improvement in how the licensing and pricing are done. They are based on the number of processing instances you execute on the cluster... but on the self-hosted mode, the pricing model should be customized."
"We're using the free version. We used the Enterprise version for some time. If I compare free versus what we paid at that time, the Enterprise version costs a lot. For the additional functionality that we got with the Enterprise version, it was too costly."
"We're using the open-source version for now."
"When compared with the proprietary products, the pricing costs are much less, even though it is an enterprise edition."
