Flexible and a good solution for user with different environments
The setup was generally easy. The most complex aspect was configuring the VPN. While not overly difficult, it was more challenging compared to setting up other VPNs. However, once we resolved the initial VPN configuration issue, everything has been smooth sailing. It's a matter of familiarity. Initially, the technology is unfamiliar, but with experience, configuration becomes easier. Deployment time: We didn't have any problems. We determined the implementation date, considered the transition for ourselves and our users, and it went smoothly. Maintenance: There isn't much required. If the stability, resolution, and capacity planning are correct for our needs, or if we need to expand storage, then maintenance is mostly handled by our banking team.

Gained clearer financial governance and have improved cloud cost visibility and forecasting
I do not feel that anything needs to be changed. Umbrella is solving the purpose and is on point. The UI is intuitive and user-friendly. The learning curve is very easy. The features provided are on point. There is no downtime or challenges, and it is easy to learn and easy to use. In total, I do not feel that improvement is needed as per our organizational use case. Maybe for other organizations, they might have some suggestions, but for our organization specifically, I do not feel that they are lacking somewhere. It is already providing us the best thing. Almost everything is working as we expect. Small things we do not always point out. I feel that it works well and we do not have such problems with them specifically.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's a no-brainer, basically, it does all the work for you and gives you the optimum solution you have to accommodate your company even within future variabilities and changes you may do."
"The most valuable feature of AWS Savings Plans is we can discuss budgets briefly during our confirmation process since we are aware of our usual consumption patterns. Creating budgets in this regard would be beneficial, as it would allow us to consume only what we need, without including reserve instances that do not serve our purpose."
"AWS is consistently innovating and releasing new products and features."
"The initial setup is very easy."
"Umbrella has positively impacted my organization because of its ease of use, and with the simple UI, our internal staff just click on the Umbrella icon to select from multiple VPN server profiles that we have uploaded, choosing their region and connecting."
"Umbrella has positively impacted our organization by being tool-based and user card driven."
"Anyone who is looking for a dedicated FinOps and AI anomaly detection and forecasting platform, which is good with transparent and clear costs and is also cheap compared to other solutions, can definitely give Umbrella a try."
"Umbrella has positively impacted my organization primarily in two areas: risk reduction and operational efficiency, representing the overall positive impact."
"The best feature that I have found useful in Umbrella is blocking website access to users, which significantly reduces our cybersecurity incidents, prevents computers from being attacked by malware, and stops users from accessing unproductive applications such as Netflix on their work laptops."
"Umbrella has positively impacted my organization because it has turned a different situation around; we see at least billions of traffic being protected and classified regarding what sort of traffic is going in and out."
"Overall, Umbrella is a great product, and I have not seen any room for improvement."
"Umbrella has positively impacted my organization by significantly improving web security and reducing exposure."

Cons

"The visibility of AWS Savings Plans could improve."
"The most complex aspect was configuring the VPN."
"In the future, it would be interesting if there could be a combination of Savings Plans and some Reserved Servers."
"To improve the Umbrella experience, a dashboard or daily statistics along with visual widgets would be useful if they were added."
"Umbrella could be improved with notifications."
"Some aspects that my team often wishes were better include reporting depth, policy granularity, false positive whitelisting, integration with other tools, and cost considerations."
"User experience of Umbrella can be improved, with less backhauling traffic, better browsing performance, and fewer VPN dependency complaints."
"Umbrella has a tier-restricted feature in the base package that lacks advanced features such as URL-level filtering or inspection and requires more expensive subscriptions."
"Umbrella can be improved with easier migration and easier deployment, as we had to get some really specialized users in to deploy the software."
"I think Umbrella is a good tool, but it needs to be improved, especially because of the most recent scenario of AI-driven attacks."
"A ten would be the case where we would never encounter any issues, or the proactive work would be really well done without any problems."
