Centralized access control has improved team collaboration but still needs a simpler onboarding
One of the best features AWS IAM Identity Center offers is the permission set, which is one of the best. Then there are the temporary credentials via SSO, the multi-account governance, and the centralized identity management. Those are good features that I believe assist developers, and another feature I can say is one of the best is the improved security with temporary credentials. The feature I find myself relying on the most day-to-day would be the centralized identity management and multi-account governance. It allows me to check what other developers are doing and since I am the admin, I can also revoke the access they have to the AWS accounts.

Shows group analytics with good UI but needs improvement in GPO
The solution helps with group analytics.  Imanami GroupID's UI is good.  The product's implementation is complex. It should also work on GPO.  I have been using the solution for two years.  I rate the tool's stability an eight out of ten.  I rate Imanami GroupID's scalability an eight out of…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the security configuration ease, which is great for me, especially as a beginner."
"The solution helps us manage access in a time-efficient manner and offers reliable integration for our services, avoiding security breaches and maintaining operational efficiency."
"AWS IAM Identity Center offers a secure and centralized way to manage access and permissions."
"We efficiently use AWS to create multiple user privileges and permissions, making it very scalable and supportive of our clients' operations."
"The most valuable feature of AWS IAM Identity Center is the ability to provide a structured approach to access management through a single dashboard."
"IAM provides significant benefits when properly deployed."
"It has increased the workflow percentage by over 20 to 30%, making it very effective for us to actually achieve the work we're trying to do in a short amount of time."
"The product is easy for beginners to learn and use."
"For each job code, we go through and determine the access they're supposed to have to the system, and based on that job code, we use the query tool so that anybody who is in this job code gets these groups added to them, or conversely, if they change job codes, it removes the ones that they shouldn't have and adds the one they should, which runs every night so that the next day everybody has the job codes they're supposed to have."
"Imanami GroupID's UI is good."
"I have found the overall features to be useful."

Cons

"In the product, two groups cannot have the same name...In general, the tool does not allow for the duplication of names."
"Sometimes it experiences lag, but there's always room for improvement, which is why I deducted one point."
"For AWS services in general, I had trouble creating an S3 bucket due to a repetitive error message regarding existing names."
"The initial setup isn't very easy, around four on a scale of one to ten. It permits setting up policies that might not be entirely secure if improperly configured, which can lead to issues later."
"Greater visualization for security policies would be beneficial."
"The AWS Identity Center's user interface could be improved to provide a clearer understanding of how the system operates."
"I think AWS IAM Identity Center can be improved by making it beginner-friendly. It was very hard for me to navigate initially because the UI was very complicated."
"I have opened support tickets and received responses, although not always resolving my queries fully. I would appreciate a live chat option with technical support for quicker resolutions."
"The mobile application needs to be improved and there should be chatbox features to allow users to easily reach out for assistance."
"The product's implementation is complex. It should also work on GPO."
"I'd like to see a better user interface. It works, but it is clunky. There should be better import and export of LDAP queries and better management tools."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is cheap since it is available on the cloud."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"It is on a yearly basis, and it has the product license fee and the support for it. So, there is the licensing fee, and there is the annual maintenance that includes the support. I don't remember exactly, but we're probably paying somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000 to $30,000 for it per year. We've got a pretty large implementation of it, and for the amount that we do, it is a pretty good deal. I would rate it a four out of five in terms of pricing."
