Flexible with high performance and good reliability
The solution scales well. As an example, there has been an American telecom service provider that had 20 million users, and the data of those user profiles had been stored on Dirx Directory, and they don't have any issues in retrieving the data and using it for any kind of services. Regarding our clients, the amount of users depends on if you have end users that don't really use this Directory or not. They are stored in this Directory and make use of the services that are administered via this Directory. There we are talking about millions. Then, you have administrators who configure the Directory and there we're talking about, let's say, hundreds of users.

Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

Pros

"The most valuable feature is its knowledge."
"The flexibility of the product."
"The solution offers high performance."
"The role and attribute-based access control has been greatly improved."
"The solution is extremely stable; typically if you don't change the setup, the configuration, or anything, it will be running for decades and nothing will happen as an issue."
"DirX Directory is the best feature of the product: a very fast, stable LDAP directory."
"One Identity Manager helps achieve an identity-centric Zero Trust model."
"One Identity Manager has improved efficiency and better control over user access management."
"The business role management feature is pretty good because we have a lot of dynamic roles, and you can configure it with the filters."
"One Identity Manager has positively impacted our organization by adding more visibility on what we have, what we need, and what compliance features or compliance requirements we need to fulfill while allowing us to provide audit records on time and in a very useful way."
"One Identity Manager's account creation feature stands out as its most valuable functionality."
"Now, we get data from HR when a new hire begins and we have the user account, mailbox, and default permissions for the organization available approximately two hours later."
"One Identity Manager has positively impacted the organization by reducing account creation and access approval times from days or weeks to minutes or hours through automated workflows."
"Using this solution means that our engineers do not need to log in to a domain controller as frequently, and instead they can log in using One Identity to perform all of the administrative tasks, which is beneficial from a security perspective and also helps to complete the task in the least amount of time."

Cons

"The price could be better. It would be better if they developed a better endpoint solution in the next release."
"Needs more available consultants and implementation partners."
"An overall modernization of the product is required in order to keep up with newer products."
"The Self-Service Portal is old school and it lacks easy accessibility for users."
"The product provides an excellent framework but could use some polish on the front end to reduce the amount of configuration required for basic tasks."
"The user interface could be more convenient for people that don't know the tool too intensively."
"The product must include SaaS in the future."
"One Identity Manager's user interface can be confusing due to its multiple UIs."
"The initial setup and planning could be simplified, as they can be complex."
"The initial setup was complex. It is an extremely complicated thing to replace an entire self-built solution."
"They should publish more development documents to help users of One Identity Manager, as there are limited resources available."
"There are too many configuration interfaces. They could simplify the design to not require VB/PS coding to draw the workflows."
"In regards to the front end, the portal that is offered to our users needs improvement. There is room for improvement on that side, particularly in user experience."
"The support from One Identity is very poor. The response is often delayed and lacks actionable advice, such as suggesting updates without confidence in their effectiveness."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price could be better."
"We are using a self-built solution. It would cost too much to get that up to the standard of what we need. In the long-term, it is cheaper to buy a solution that has what we need. Though, we are still running the previous solution, as we are still in the implementation phase."
"It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
"We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
"One Identity Manager is fairly priced."
"Its price is okay."
"We pay yearly and per active user. One of the reasons that we chose One Identity Manager is because of the pricing. It is reasonable and affordable compared to other products which we considered before choosing this solution for the company."
"It was okay for us. It was not too much for us. It was nearly the same as other products. It was not expensive."
"We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
