We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a very scalable solution in which you can add more servers instantly.""The solution is very well integrated into Amazon's services.""The solution offers good load balancing.""It is straightforward to deploy.""Amazon Elastic Load Balancing transfers the data securely from servers to users and splits the traffic based on peak times.""Security and monitoring for high-performance applications are some of the top features.""The feature that I like the most is the scalability. The solutions I build often have many pieces, which are very complicated. If a client comes to me with a design, my developer has made this as a template or a cloud formation script. It's a design on paper, and I want it executed a certain way. I can do that quickly and repeatedly with AWS. That is a considerable advantage because I can take that template and do it five times in different zones. That is an excellent feature based on a template, et cetera.""It has very good features. It is very configurable. Security with TLS, et cetera is also very easy."

"Exchange load balancing and reverse proxy for Skype for Business are key features.""The base feature of Kemp LoadMaster load balancing ticks all the boxes but the most valuable features would be the security features Intrusion Prevention (IPS) and Web Application Firewall (WAF).""Persistence is very valuable. This holds the connection information of the source and that connection is important to RDP and our APO calls. The connection has to be persisted to the original source to operate properly. We also use the subsections for sub-services to create services inside our services for our API resources, this is most awesome. We would not be able to do this without Kemp and offer this type of sub-service to route based on an API instance. It routes the traffic properly based on the sub-service type.""Failover is seamless and our services are rock solid.""With Kemp 360 Central, our customers get a nice overview of their Kemp products and an easy way to upgrade firmware on all devices from a single interface.""We really like the performance of this solution.""The security features, load balancing, built-in templates, and the easy to implement virtual IPs are great.""The most valuable feature that I found is the load balancing feature, it is the core function of the product."

Cons
"It would be good if we had a product that integrates well with third-party vendors. Some of our customers want a multi-cloud solution. They don't want to be tied up to or be in just one cloud.""The solution needs to guarantee stability because multiple loads behind a load balancer can cause service unavailability.""The machines created by Amazon Elastic Load Balancing have different IP addresses, which we are not able to whitelist or predict.""The product's stability is an area with a slight shortcoming, which can be improved.""The reporting could be simplified so that the client sees a report of what they cached at the end of the month and the number of hits. It should have metrics above and beyond their Google analytics, etc. You can't do that with the solutions from AWS. You have to build sophisticated cloud trails, reports, dashboards, etc. The setup is significant, and it's hard to manage. You'll need to hire someone or pay a consultant on a regular basis to manage it, and it's not for the faint of heart.""One issue that we faced with ALB was that leaf-level certificate validation was not happening. It is not that user-friendly in that aspect.""They should improve the solution's pricing.""We faced some issues with the health check."

"Although Kemp is very user-friendly, it lacks a more custom configuration.""The cost of the GEO upgrade is not cost-prohibitive but it's something that would be a nice add-in, out of the box.""Over the last several major versions, the GUI has remained virtually unchanged and still seems lacking.""It would be helpful if there were a way to incorporate tooltips on the fields so that we don't have to dig through documentation.""In my opinion, the layer seven loads balancing that we're mainly using for web servers, doesn't seem to pick up when there are issues at the application level.""Several elements of the GUI need work. For example, if you have many content switches, it’s difficult to find the ones you need. And where is the search feature?""They were still in the process of development, and for example, we set it up in a cluster. So it was one logistical unit built out of two physical devices. And the expected behavior, which I know from other devices, will be formed into a logic cluster. It's that you configure one unit. Then you bring the second unit into this cluster with the already configured primary unit. So the secondary box pulls all the configured ones from its neighbor, does everything automatically, and then synchronizes with this primary neighbor. And then it works, like, one logical unit. And this didn't work with the Kemp's initially, where they caused a lot of issues when building up a cluster, so there were some specials on how to set this up. When we built or set them up for the first time and the months afterward with no new software releases, there were a couple of problems, but in the end, they worked fine. So, they developed a lot and learned from what they've responded to, what we responded to them, and what needs fixing.""There is room for improvement in the stability of the solution."

    Overview

Elastic Load Balancing automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets, such as Amazon EC2 instances, containers, IP addresses, and Lambda functions. It can handle the varying load of your application traffic in a single Availability Zone or across multiple Availability Zones. Elastic Load Balancing offers three types of load balancers that all feature the high availability, automatic scaling, and robust security necessary to make your applications fault tolerant.

Kemp LoadMaster is a powerful load balancing solution that also serves as a web application firewall. Its primary use case is load balancing and application load balancing, making it an ideal solution for organizations that must distribute traffic across multiple servers. Kemp's integration with an active directory for ESP usage, hosting/deployment of SSL certificates, and pricing are some of its most valuable features.

Using Kemp has helped organizations mitigate cross-scripting vulnerabilities, cookie-related issues, and content security policy issues. It has also allowed them to handle everything with Kemp instead of working on each application individually.
