Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The Alteryx designer has been the most useful feature in the solution.""The support is very good.""The philosophy of the citizen data scientist is the key piece, which means the no-code analytics capability. This is the feature that attracted us the most.""The connectors are a very good feature.""All of the data science features in terms of unioning and joining data together are valuable.""Data processing is most valuable. It is one of the fastest data blockers out there in the market, which is a fascinating thing about Alteryx.""I believe that the ability to leverage the gallery for scalability, as well as the general data blending functionality, is most beneficial to our core-based users.""You get more support with Alteryx, and it's good for non-sophisticated users who can benefit from the support included in the price."

Cons
"The interface could be improved.""Sometimes workflows tend to queue up, and they tend to get canceled for some reason that we don't know sometimes.""Alteryx can improve in data science. They have to have more features and components in the data science aspect because they claim to be a data science tool. However, in order to be more competitive, they have to improve on their data science propositions. Thre are other solutions on the market, such as other players in the market, Data2Go or DataIQ, and Alteryx needs to catch up.""The only weakness I would say is on the visualization side of having that dynamic incapability.""I think they should really work on integrating or have a capacity to integrate some algorithmic code. I think that's one of the most important things they need to be doing.""It would be great to create the final users' visualization within Alteryx.""The scalability worries me a lot at the moment because the cost of the solution is high and it is not growing considerably. Unfortunately, we started during early COVID times and because of the economic downturn, all the cost cuttings, and everything, it is not growing as expected.""It's a technical product and those that don't have proper training will have to deal with a steep learning curve."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I don't know much about the licensing, but there are some additional costs for certain features."
  • "The license is really expensive, we cannot afford to have two or three. It takes away all the budget of my area."
  • "Its price should be lower. The key thing that we see is that talking about ROI is an important element at the time of purchase. Cost becomes a factor in every discussion. Justifying the ROI for these kinds of workflows is always a challenge, and the only way to counter the challenge is by addressing the pricing."
  • "My organization pays for it, and I do not look into the financial aspect of the licensing, but I know it is pretty expensive."
  • "In order to have designers, and, if you want to collaborate, you have to buy a server. If the designer is $5,000, and if you want a server, you have to pay $80,000."
  • "There is a license required for this solution."
  • "The cost of the solution could be reduced."
  • "The price could be better."
