Pros
"Monarch lets you quickly extract in your preferred format."

"Denodo is very stable.""The most valuable feature is Data Catalogs.""Denodo's best features are its performance, easy data transformation, and the job scheduler.""It is easy to virtualize data using the solution.""The most valuable features are data lineage and the concept of a semantic layer.""It can support a number of data sources, and it can pull flat files, from cloud-based databases or from those on-premises. Denodo can pull from any data source and interface with the view. Then, we can publish the view.""Overall, the product works quite well and has a good set of features.""The logical data warehouse functionality is fantastic. It truly stands out. The ClearOptimizer and Virtual Cache are great features. They work together seamlessly to optimize performance."

Cons
"I rate Altair Monarch seven out of 10 for affordability. Recently, the pricing model changed from end-user licensing to a concurrent licensing model."

More Altair Monarch Cons →

"We occasionally have some integration issues that we need to work through.""The support is not the best and should be improved.""I would like it if we could pull the data model or export the data model because Denodo has, based on how you build, something called associations. The data model gets very confusing when you go look at it. It depends on how you define it, but it's really huge. I wish there was a way to export it into Visio. It could be that they already have a way to do it, and I don't know, but it would be much easier for the architects and even for the developers to look at it than scrunching it into the screen and expanding every small portion of it. If there was an easy way to export the Denodo model into another modeling tool and view it, it would be great.""There have been some issues when you are at a table. Currently, Denodo exports data sets for a tabular model. When you are finished modeling your database or data warehouse they export a link to be used in Tableau. They should support other tools like Power BI.""I would like to see a proper way to avoid killing the sourcing systems.""We would like this solution to be more universally user-friendly. At present it is really only aimed at IT specialists.""Monitoring event logs can be improved. In the older version, there was a monitoring schedule to get event reports and properly audit the reports. In the newer version, it is not there, and we have to manually configure data and audit events.""The data catalog certainly has room for improvement. It is functional but we look forward to development. We are in constant contact with Denodo and they are fully aware of our needs."

    Overview

Datawatch Monarch is an application that runs on your Windows desktop and as soon as you drop a file or web page onto the canvas it automatically begins to extract into analytics-ready rows and columns. You can also connect to all major relational, big data, and over 30 other sources, but often the most important information you need is locked away in existing reports or difficult sources that seem impossible to use without re-keying the data.

Denodo is a leading data integration, management, and delivery platform that uses a logical approach to enable data science, hybrid and multi-cloud data integration, self-service BI, and enterprise data services. Organizations of different sizes across various industries utilize the product to get above the data silos. The solution offers organizations the freedom to migrate data to the cloud, or logically unify data warehouses and data lakes, without affecting business. This can ultimately result in the evolution of data strategies.

The platform accelerates data provisioning through reduced data replication, provides business users the freedom to select their preferred applications, and enables consistent security and governance across multiple systems. The solution offers one of the leading logical data fabric solutions by initiating data virtualization and eliminating the complexity and exposing the data in business-friendly formats.

Denodo also offers modern data integration and management for hybrid and multi-cloud environments for Denodo Platform for Cloud. This service can be purchased through the bring-your-own-license (BYOL) option. Users seeking faster deployment can license the product to popular cloud providers, including Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure. The solution integrates, manages, and delivers data in complex environments with high performance, governance, and security. It also offers additional solutions, such as the Denodo Platform for Cloud Modernization, the Denodo Platform for Cloud Data Integration, and the Denodo Platform for Cloud Analytics, which overcome common cloud data challenges.
