Useful bandwidth optimization, reliable, but difficult to implement
The deployment of Allot IoTSecure took approximately one week and it is very difficult. When using a different solution, if you install one device, you can easily install another device. However, in Allot IoTSecure, you have to use the help from Allot. Without the help of Allot, it is not possible to configure it.

Comprehensive visibility has strengthened endpoint control and automated threat response across networks
When it comes to improving Forescout Platform, I have faced some issues recently, particularly with the switch integration part. When integrating a switch, it asks for the vendor type, and often it does not match. For example, one series of HP switches may not be found in that vendor list. This leads to frustration because you have to check again with different HP models, and once you integrate a switch, you cannot edit the vendor list without removing it. Other issues are being worked on, particularly related to switch integration. I believe they will be fixed in the next upgrade or patch fix. There are no major issues, but the configuration changes needed for the switch model are necessary, and I think it would help if during integration, an admin user could check the password or credential used, as they currently cannot see the password after it is entered and saved.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Allot IoTSecure is bandwidth optimization."
"Allot IoTSecure is the best bandwidth optimization solution on the market right now."
"Forescout Platform's most valuable features are that it is very granular. We are able to cull out a lot of information about our particular device or endpoint. The configuration and the visibility are very seamless. Overall the solution is very easy to handle and it's very comprehensive."
"Forescout Platform's compliance enforcement has delivered significant cost savings for our organization."
"The initial setup is straightforward; we had to implement the solution in a short timeframe and we managed to do it in one month as a managed service, and Forescout Platform is easy to deploy as the fastest NAC solution that you can deploy in a large environment."
"It gives us a clear initial and secondary view of what's happening on our network to determine its health."
"Forescout Platform's most valuable aspect is its excellent device profiling for devices without agents, which is crucial for our work due to challenges with agent-based devices. Its isolation and blocking actions are particularly effective for network security. The device compliance feature helps us ensure device compliance through immediate actions like updating antivirus software. We have already integrated Forescout with antivirus and vulnerability assessment tools, allowing it to monitor vulnerability scores and automatically isolate devices if critical vulnerabilities are detected."
"Forescout Platform is stable, it is great."
"The best parts of Forescout Platform are its orchestration features, discovery capabilities, classification buckets, and flexibility in creating policies."
"The user management has been very easy for the most part."

Cons

"Allot IoTSecure could improve by providing better documentation, there was not any documentation on their website."
"The initial setup was complex, but that was due to the nature of the network architecture."
"When it comes to improving Forescout Platform, I have faced some issues recently, particularly with the switch integration part."
"The solution's customer support is bad and should be improved."
"It needs enhanced mobile support, but I have heard that this is coming."
"The biggest negative regarding Forescout is their support."
"We have found that troubleshooting RADIUS controls is quite arduous, as it is today."
"The cost is too high."
"First and foremost, that information is not accessible."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is an annual subscription for the use of this solution. Additionally, there are installation costs."
"Devices with multiple IP's count multiple times against your license count."
"We might have paid in the ballpark of $20,000 yearly for our licenses. I do not recall there being other fees over and above the standard licensing fee."
"We went with the virtual appliance option. The biggest cost to running these types of appliances would be to either have multiple virtual appliances at every data center or running Remote SPAN hardware to provide you the real-time network visibility."
"The pricing structure should be enhanced."
"The cost of the solution depends on the customer's requirement because the customer is asking for different integration with a different product. Forescout Platform's price would start to get a bit higher. However, overall the price is a little expensive. It's can fit within the customer budget."
"The product's pricing is reasonable."
"I would rate Forescout Platform's pricing as four out of five."
"The setup cost, pricing, and licensing are on the high side."
