Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Reports are allowed to be edited for aesthetic purposes, which is lacking in a lot of other dashboard tools.""Forecasting changes that instantly flow through all financial statements.""The important feature is integration with source data. It connects to various ERP systems, including Workday, Intact, and others. It can also import actuals and compare them to PlanPoint quite easily.""Automated reporting.""It's very simple to create a new version and do some more modeling based on your need for planning things like headcount, other expenses, and revenue, everything is configurable within Workday.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its dashboard.""The biggest feature is the source of truth for all of our budget and forecast versions.""The integration with our payroll system to complete staff modeling during our budget and forecast processes."

"It is a scalable solution.""The most valuable feature of Splunk for data analysis is its ability to search using SPL and SQL.""The solution is very good for monitoring compared to other tools.""The product's most valuable feature is the ability to explain the values and provide insights into transactions.""Splunk Enterprise Platform can be used for security, IT monitoring, and observability.""The most valuable feature of Splunk Enterprise Platform is that it's a customizable solution.""Splunk's real-time processing capability has been pretty good for my use cases.""Splunk Enterprise Platform is an easy-to-use and easy-to-configure solution."

Cons
"The upload feature exists, but isn't terribly useful.""Adaptive Insights could improve the data designer interface to make integrations easier to set up.""The integrations could be simpler. It takes quite a bit of internal and IT know-how to set up.""Their customer support team is slow to respond and not extremely confident.""Adaptive Insights has a limit of 1,00,000 rows for HTML reports. It should be improved because we will have multiple dimensions that need to be populated to enhance the image.""The product's configuration process could be faster.""Better user interface (UI).""We tried Discovery and OfficeConnect at one point and found them too cumbersome, at the time."

"Things have to be managed manually""The platform is too expensive for small businesses. Splunk should focus more on delivering something for small businesses and entrepreneurs.""The support offered by Splunk Enterprise Platform has certain shortcomings that need improvement.""Based on my experience, I've noticed areas for improvement, particularly in support. Developers typically interact with support personnel who may lack technical expertise when raising support tickets. This can result in delays as initial interactions involve sharing documents before escalation to higher support levels.""Areas for improvement include enhancing dashboards, reports, alerts, and the monitoring console.""The tool lacked in providing a shareable format. I had to use pivot tables and manually parse and edit the data to create a visualization-friendly format. It was helpful when we had an issue. What would make it stronger is if it were more proactive. For example, if it highlighted major incidents and their impact on users without digging through notifications, that would be better. Typically, the first question we get is, "Oh, we had an incident. How bad was it? How many customers were impacted?" So having that information pop up from the notification would be helpful.""There is room for improvement in introducing more AI capabilities onto Splunk Enterprise Platform.""The solution’s pricing could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Everything is negotiable, but this solution is low cost compared to others."
  • "Licensing seems to be worth the cost considering the efficiency Adaptive brings."
  • "Prior to purchasing licenses, make sure you understand which users will only need planning and which users will need both planning and OfficeConnect."
  • "Ensure that you have the proper pricing plan in place."
  • "Adaptive Insights' pricing is reasonable."
  • "Pricing is in line with other cloud-based EPM tools. It is a subscription-based model based upon the number of users and site type if it's an admin or end-user type thing."
  • "Adaptive Insights' pricing is relative to its peer competitors. It's certainly competitive compared to a spreadsheet template that you build in Excel. It can be expensive if you need to have 100-500 budget holders giving input and building financial plans. However, in that case, it becomes an extremely good bargain. Compared to its competitors, it offers an excellent value."
  • "It's affordable."

  • "The solution is expensive, so I rate its pricing a four out of ten."

  • "Splunk Enterprise Platform is an expensive solution."
  • "There are yearly payments to be made towards the licensing costs attached to the solution."
  • "On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing around seven or eight out of ten."
  • "If you exceed your licensed limit, the product will issue a warning, typically a five-license warning. Additionally, they send daily email notifications informing you about the breach. This prompts you to consider options such as minimizing logs or acquiring additional licensing to address the issue."
  • "The product is expensive, and the cost depends on the amount of data ingestion."
