Its flexibility is the most valuable. Being a cloud version, it has more flexibility, and it allows me to incorporate different workloads and consolidate all the data in one place. It has good high availability, and it is also easy to maintain.

The ability to essentially instantly recover a VM and have it run on the Cohesity Platform while all those bits are technically being recovered in the background is useful to us.
With the ability to stage an entire lifecycle through versioning, integrated with AWS, it has made it possible to protect our corporation from end to end.

The ease of use and the GUI have really been most valuable to us. Configuring the system to do what we need is simple and straight forward and a lot of guesswork has been removed. One of my favorite features with Cohesity is Kroll for Exchange item-level recovery. The software is simple to use and fast.

The product is easy to put in place. All backups are done very quickly. It's easy to perform restores. What I prefer in the product is its simplicity. There are no useless settings to define, and everything is ready after the initial setup.
After linking a cloud subscription, like Azure for example (AWS and Google are also supported), you can "spin" a VM onto the cloud from any backup snapshot.

It makes our administrators' lives much easier to combine backup, archiving, and services like hosting file shares in one central system with only one user interface.
Cohesity is a cost-effective storage designed for secondary or archival data. It also integrates well with a number of other systems, like VMware, Pure Storage, or AWS with its large array of APIs available to the user.
Hi community,
I've shortlisted two Backup and Recovery products and would like to determine which one to purchase. Which of the following products will be your choice: Cohesity DataProtect or Rubrik? Why?
Thanks for your help!

We went with Rubrik based on our needs.
We wanted on-prem backup with the option of having a second site where our data is replicated.
Rubrik now has some new offerings such as:
- RADAR that scans data on our on-prem backup storage for anomalies,
- SONOR for looking for specific data within the backups that might not be compliant, such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, etc.,
- Rubrik Cloud Vault allows me to replicate my data to their data center which would keep my data air gapped from my site, and now their NAS direct offering where you don't even need their hardware on-premise but you can backup your NAS directly to their data center.
I also liked the fact that if you keep the Rubrik under maintenance when a new version comes out and your model has been EOL, they replace it for free.
While Rubrik is not the cheapest option out there, it fulfills all our needs and gives us the security knowing that our data is protected.
If you were talking to someone whose organization is considering Cohesity DataProtect, what would you say? How would you rate it and why? Any other tips or advice?
