Offers a valuable single sign-on feature and a user-friendly interface with outstanding scaling capabilities
The single sign-on feature, which integrates with the Identity Manager is one of the most vital features. The VMware Workspace ONE Tunnel is another crucial aspect of the solution. Authentication processes become seamless with the single sign-on feature of VMware Workspace ONE. Whether the application resides within the premises or outside, the users don't need to reenter the credentials, VMware Workspace ONE auto authenticates using scripts. The solution can also integrate the app catalog with the Intelligent Hub, which acts as the agent. Applications catalogs and similar aspects can be accessed through one single interface, whether it's from an Android, iOS, or Windows device. It's a very user-friendly tool in terms of accessibility.

Reasonably priced, responsive support, and easy to implement access reviews
There is still no automated way to de-provision access due to a review completion, but they are getting there in terms of making it unified. Right now it is just a one-way integration, importing user lists. I believe they working on it. I can pull a user list in, but when I do a review, the results get sent to a ticket which requires a person to execute. As a result of the review, there is no automation for the removal of access. They are going there, and the next step is to continue to streamline the process operationally and resource-wise. The review process is great. The scope for improvement is more at the results end. It would be great if it could systematically communicate with that end system and remove the requested access automatically.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has good stability."
"The platform makes the mobile device management process straightforward to handle."
"VMware Workspace ONE is scalable."
"Its value is when you use it with a Workspace ONE UEM solution as it is part of the ecosystem for VMware Workspace ONE."
"You can upgrade and migrate the existing group policies that we use for VMware Workspace ONE for the active directory. We can push the policies and group policies. We can migrate it and manage it from VMware Workspace ONE."
"The most valuable feature of VMware Workspace ONE is that it can support most end users' enterprise applications."
"The antivirus and the ability to push security policies down to the device are key features."
"It's all about securing data with the help of the email client called VMware Boxer. It enables the end-user to carry data in their mobile devices but there is containerization between the personal data and the organization's data. It helps enhance their security while still carrying their own BYOD."
"I enjoy the ease of setup and creation of a review. Being a user of the tool or kind of an admin of the tool, the ease of setup of an access review is valuable."
"We had these spreadsheets all over the place, but now we have a library of evidence to consult when needed. Zilla keeps everything in one place. It's not scattered all over anymore."

Cons

"AirWatch doesn't seem to empower IT admins to try new things or get creative with implementations."
"I would like to see more service notifications."
"We'd like more useful support."
"VMware Workspace ONE platform offers support for Mac Books and we see that there is some room for improvement in that area versus all the products out there."
"We'd like to see a better connection to Microsoft Azure and a better connection with Check Point."
"There should be better compatibility with Linux devices."
"The length of time it takes to deploy an application could improve."
"We have experienced some connectivity issues."
"There is still no automated way to de-provision access as a result of a review, but they are getting there in terms of making it unified. They are getting closer to that."
"Maybe this is coming with their AI module, but I would like to see a feature that performs baseline analysis of permissions that may not fit into a role, and it attempts to group them into a role. We've run into problems with applications where someone has not created a role but assigned ad hoc permissions to a user. We still need to do some manual work to identify the group that the user belongs to. It would be amazing to have Zilla streamline that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We've purchased various licenses for VMware Workspace ONE, including premium and gold tiers. These licenses include security measures and support for managing telecom expenses like data and voice usage."
"In some cases, a customer may feel the solution is expensive."
"You should take out a dedicated license agreement of your MDM fleet and invest heavily in innovating in this space."
"The tool is expensive."
"It's an expensive tool."
"We are paying about $145,000 a year on a three-year subscription with no ability to scale up or scale down within that class model."
"I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"For most of the projects, we use the standard license but for complex ones, we use the older type of processes, integrations, and licenses inside the solution."
"It has been fair because we have been in from the beginning or close to the beginning. I know it is not truly an identity access management system yet, but its price was one of the appealing factors for us to purchase it at the time. It was reasonably priced."
