We saw time to value within two weeks of implementing the solution, which strengthened our use cases
We use FortiAI, FortiSIEM, and FortiEDR Fortinet helped us scale large-scale deals with clients because of its strong offerings. Fortinet is very straightforward to use. I have access to a lot of technical resources, and I have been able to use them effectively. Fortinet has helped free up around…

Reduces the time to detect and respond with moderate pricing
Seqrite has significantly reduced the time it takes to detect and respond The solution should focus on security, documentation, and simplicity for beginners. I have been using Seqrite Endpoint Security Cloud for one and a half years. I rate the solution’s stability a seven out of ten. 100…

Mature, simplified management, and complete protection
If there is a suspicious file, it is put into a sandbox where Symantec does an analysis. After the analysis, Symantec marks the file as a risk, but it doesn't blacklist or block the file. If a file is already known to be harmful, I would like them to automatically block or blacklist it to reduce the damage. It will stop the attack by at least 50%. Sometimes, administrators do not see the console on a daily basis, and sometimes, they assume that Symantec will block and delete the file, which is not the case. I would like it to block the file so that you won't be able to open the file. Another improvement area is reporting. Its reporting is more technical. As a technical person, it gives me 100% value, but if someone from the business staff wants to see what exactly is going on, you cannot give them these reports, and they won't get the value out of it. Currently, the data is not presentable for any C-level person.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers."
"Seqrite has significantly reduced the time it takes to detect and respond."
"The solution installs very easily."
"The solution, especially in older versions, is quite stable."
"The single-pane management is the solution's most valuable feature. It makes administrative control very easy."
"Some important features that are included are the built-in firewall and device control."
"I like the firewall and the intrusion prevention features, and just the basic anti-malware and anti-virus seems to be pretty effective as well."
"The application and device control functionality is good. We are able to see which applications are installed using the product management dashboard."
"It just works. We have a console, and I can see it at a glance. I don't have any problems with it at all."
"The mobile application is valuable. You are able to see the reports of intrusions and the like on mobile devices. That is one of the coolest aspects."
"I have found the solution to be very scalable, we have 700 employees using the solution in our organization."

Cons

"I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components."
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."
"Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"Integration with Azure and SaaS provisioning tools could improve Fortinet FortiEDR."
"Intelligence aspects need improvement"
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."
"The solution should focus on security, documentation, and simplicity for beginners."
"The security is too week and needs improvement."
"It can maybe send notifications when there is an update and everything is successful."
"The solution should have more integration with other platforms."
"The monitoring capabilities could be further developed."
"They need to develop a multi-language interface."
"It could use more feature parity between what is offered with their on-prem console as well as their hosted console."
"Symantec needs to develop some reporting features and notifications. For instance, if the server is not on or it's shut down. There should also be time-based USB control."
","
"Since the division of the company, we have experienced a lack of support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We got a good deal on licensing, so it is in the competitive range."
"Fortinet FortiEDR has a yearly subscription."
"Offered at a high price"
"The pricing is good."
"There are no issues with the pricing."
"The solution is not expensive."
"The pricing is typical for enterprises and fairly priced."
"Fortinet FortiEDR is available at a very competitive price compared to the other products in the market."
Information not available
"It is normal. If you are an educational institute, they give you a very good discount. If you are coming from the banking side, they may or may not give you a discount. I'm working with seven companies, and normally, they get a 65% to 70% discount on everything."
"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"Each annual client license is around 1200 or 1600 INR."
"The licensing is okay. Symantec has a very granular licensing model, so you only buy what you need."
"The pricing is as per the environment. If all the features are there, there will be a cost for them. There were no additional costs for me. Support and other things were included in the pricing."
"It provides a good solution at a good price."
"The price of Symantec is on the higher end. They face some competition from a company called Quick Heal, which is much cheaper than Endpoint Security. They offer three years of protection at just 900 rupees."
"The prices fluctuate, but this year I think it was maybe around $12,000."
