Embedded analytics has unified diverse data sources and supports real-time operational decisions

I find Power BI Embedded Analytics to be a fairly good reporting tool and dashboarding tool. The color palette and everything about it is good. It would be beneficial to have reporting on top of a data warehouse, a lake house, or directly on an Excel-based solution. If Power BI can come as a full stack similar to SAP Analytics Cloud, it can embed with Azure very quickly. However, the full suite provided by SAP, starting from ERP through reporting, is somewhat loosely coupled, which can be helpful for some clients. Overall, Power BI is a very good tool for reporting. Embedded analytics may lack some features from the modeling perspective, such as dimension modeling, and there are multiple factors that lead us to prefer analytics on top of the warehouse rather than going for embedded analytics.

Tableau Enterprise helps us to consolidate the data and visualize daily and weekly trends in a clear and centralized dashboard, offering powerful features such as interactive dashboards, real-time data refreshing, advanced visual analytics, role-based access control, secure data, and seamless interaction with multiple data sources and automated reports. This will help us to analyze trends and collaborate across teams and scale analytics across the organization. These features help my team specifically by centralizing all employees' data in one place. This helps us reduce manual tracking and gives us real-time visibility into work from home versus office trends. The interactive dashboards allow quick decision-making, and the automated refresh time saves us a lot, while role-based access ensures data is shared securely with the right stakeholders. Tableau Enterprise has had a strong positive impact on our organization by improving data visibility, speeding up decision-making, and managing reports efficiently. The team can now access and track trends more effectively, and collaboration has improved using interactive dashboards. Overall, it has enhanced effectiveness and fostered a data-driven culture across the organization. The specific outcomes showing this positive impact include speeding up decision-making, which is the biggest impact because it saves us more time. Reporting time actually reduces sequentially since the dashboards refresh automatically. Data security is stronger, and data accuracy has improved, thanks to a centralized data source. Decision-making is also much faster since leaders can view real-time impacts instead of waiting for manual entry.

"One of the most valuable features of Tableau is that it's a visual analytics solution, not just a dashboarding solution. Compared to Power BI, which is a dashboarding solution, there are no limitations with Tableau. For example, when you add a chart or a map to Power BI, it has a 3,000-point limitation. When you try to track your whole vehicle on the map, you only see the first 3,000 rows on the map, and Power BI doesn't tell you which part of the data is shown on the map. But Tableau doesn't have any limitations, which means that you can see five million data points on a map. It starts the project by creating the visuals that directly converts to SQLs. In that way, all the components have no limitations. When we compared Tableau to Power BI, we also found Tableau to be more fancy. Fancy means you can create more visual graphics and more visual dashboards. With Power BI, this isn't so—it's just some tables and some simple charts together. Tableau is more for business users who want to analyze data. Tableau can directly connect the analytics systems, like R or Titan, and get the results in screen, so it's a good solution for analytics scientists. It has some predefined capabilities to understand the data."
