Running secure internal banking applications has been reliable and supports fast deployments
I am still working with Oracle products. I am still using Enterprise Manager 14c. I am using Oracle Database, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle EBS, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Linux. I can answer questions about my experience with WebLogic Suite. I use it in my company. I have not used WebLogic's diagnostic tools. I do not utilize its lifecycle management features. I do not have much experience with WebLogic Java EE support, as I just deploy the application and the other team utilizes this server. I am not directly involved in WebLogic. I have been using Oracle Linux myself. The deployment is local, on-premises. I have been working with Enterprise Manager as well. All the components of Oracle I am using are on-premises. I use Oracle 19c database, Oracle ExaCC, Exadata on Cloud at Customer. I have been using Oracle Linux, Enterprise Manager, and databases as well. I have been working with Oracle Database for about 20 years. My experience has been 100% positive with Oracle Database. I have utilized its Real Application Clusters along with Data Guard. I do not use Oracle's Advanced Analytics and machine learning features right now. I have given this review an overall rating of 9 out of 10.

The documentation for YugabyteDB Aeon needs to be improved. It does not come across as beginner-friendly documentation. If someone from a different field were to use YugabyteDB Aeon, they would find it difficult to get started. Other than that, it is really good; the system is good, and the architecture and features are really good. I do not know how large the YugabyteDB Aeon community is because I have not heard of it or come across any community posts. I do not think any other features need to be improved. An important issue I faced while using YugabyteDB Aeon was that it needs to follow a sequence like one, two, three, four, and so on, but YugabyteDB Aeon does not follow this pattern in a certain aspect.

Pros

"Oracle is a perfect solution, as it will never go down."
"Power of Oracle combined with robust Unix platforms like Linux or AIX makes it powerful and secure as compared to MS SQL on Windows."
"It has improved my organisation with the stability of its systems."
"The stability is fabulous, I have one customer that has scaled this out and the application's now reaching over 100,000 users and we have not had any problems with it."
"We are happy with Oracle Database."
"It meets our high availability, resilience, and large-scale data management requirements."
"It has good features for performance tuning."
"I think it's the best database technology on the market."
"The best features YugabyteDB Aeon offers are that it is a fully managed YugabyteDB service that allows running a YugabyteDB cluster in a multi-cloud environment."
"Other than that, it is really good; the system is good, and the architecture and features are really good."

Cons

"There is a lot that can improve in Oracle Database. For example, it could be more user-friendly and should be easier to integrate into the cloud."
"Oracle Database has improved how we do our administrative backups. The solution has a smaller footprint than 11g, it's more efficient on the resources for the users. It has a smoother user experience with the ERP and fewer field transactions."
"Their migration strategies could be better because most of these companies keep the same version for six or seven years and then update it to the latest version."
"Oracle could provide a few extra features as part of the standard offering in their main license."
"Support is not available when one encounters problems."
"The solution is very, very expensive. This keeps it as a niche product."
"CRM could be improved."
"How you implement or deploy the product can be an area of concern that can be made a bit easier."
"The documentation for YugabyteDB Aeon needs to be improved. It does not come across as beginner-friendly documentation."
"In my experience, YugabyteDB Aeon is not as stable as the customer requires."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price is already low. Oracle has a competitive and cheaper price as compared to others. Oracle Cloud is cheaper than other clouds. The pricing is very competitive for Oracle Cloud to be in the market. Their pricing makes customers interested in using this product even though Oracle doesn't have a local data center at this moment."
"I do not have first-hand knowledge of the price of the support. However, I have heard from my seniors or the experienced people who work on the pricing and scaling, the price of Oracle is a bit higher. The reason is Oracle provides enterprise-level applications, only large enterprises can afford Oracle applications or tools."
"The license cost need to be optimized. The licensing cost is very high compared to other RDBMS."
"The license is yearly."
"We have bought a license, and it was a one-time cost."
"I rate Oracle Database's pricing a four out of ten."
"The tool's price is high. The price is very high in the Asia-Pacific region. The European and US regions don't find the tool's prices high."
"You have to purchase extra licenses for Oracle Data Guard."
