We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Both the professional and cloud versions of Micro Focus LoadRunner use the same scripting or programming to execute performance modeling operations. This feature allows users to use various programming languages such as Java, C, or C++, which can run within either of the two environments. This flexibility in the programming language is a strong point of the software.""The product’s most valuable feature is the Vuser license; it allows us to reduce the cost as per requirement.""It is feature-rich. It supports most protocols, which is important because I am in charge of a team at the bank, and we do performance testing for all kinds of different applications. We have tons of them. We even do video streams.""Keeping up with DevOps, thus the best feature of StormRunner is that we don't have to build and maintain infrastructure anymore.""The initial setup was straightforward.""OpenText LoadRunner Cloud eliminates the need for our own testing infrastructure when running tests.""The beauty of LoadRunner Cloud is that we can use the load generator that is hosted by us on-premises, and we also have the option to use their hosted load generator. If it is a public-hosted application, we can also use their public-hosted load generator, but in our case, all our applications are hosted in our data center, so we are using the on-premise load generator. We have the option to deploy those load generators as we want.""The most valuable feature is that you can create an infrastructure on-demand and do performance testing with it."

"Compared to other tools, there is not a whole lot to Stress Stimulus UI. This makes it easy to use, be it while scripting, executing, or having to train someone new to the team.""Designed to be a modern testing tool, StresStimulus made it easy for us to upgrade from an older deprecated testing tool and adapt to Agile DevOps testing principles by shifting left with performance testing.""Technical support is great."

Cons
"The product price could be more affordable.""I'd like to see more ability to dive more deeply into the configuration.""The product must provide agents to monitor servers.""It doesn't provide custom reports. You can only use the default reports which contain irrelevant data or is missing data that we need.""In terms of new features, they can natively integrate with Chaos engineering tools such as Chaos Monkey and AWS FIS. With LoadRunner, we can generate load, and if Chaos tools are also supported natively, it will help to get everything together.""One area of improvement in the software's support is the replaying of captured data within the development environment. It would be beneficial if the replay feature could accurately mimic what the actual application is doing for better analysis and testing.""Improvements to the reporting would be good.""The support team provides delayed responses."

"StresStimulus has a dedicated blog where users of the tool can log new feature requests or enhancements to existing features.""We run tests on SQL statements and stored procedures directly, even before integrating with UI. I wish there were a way to connect to my application DB and run SQL queries using a JDBC connection.""Result analysis (snap-out tabs for side-by-side comparisons) need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is very reasonable and the licensing is straightforward."
  • "There is no monthly or yearly cost but rather, the fees are based on the amount of traffic that you use."
  • "We make use of virtual user hours. We buy time in the LoadRunner Cloud. It costs around $80,000."
  • "Pricing is dependent on what you're referring to. If you're talking about the cloud, it's likely competitive. However, if you're talking about the on-premise version, professional or enterprise licenses are required. Prices are on the high side. They are not cheap."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • "It is expensive compared to other tools."
  • "LoadRunner always had expensive pricing. At my company, we used to evaluate LoadRunner, but we stuck with Silk Performer because its pricing was always better in the past. I do feel that I got a fair deal this time. Our value-added reseller and our sales guy worked hard to give us a fair deal. I feel that we got a fair deal. We did not go for the pay-as-you-go deal. I did an upfront package. I prefer that. I want to know what my costs are."
  • "The solution’s price is considerably high."
