A scalable and affordable solution that performs well and provides excellent technical support
If we publish API or GET requests, sometimes someone can do a POST request of the API. Such security violations are not visible in the product. Other solutions provide such security features. The product does not provide visibility into the security loopholes in the authentication and authorization mechanism. The product must improve its security features. It has protection capabilities, but it must provide better visibility on the dashboard. The dashboard must be improved a lot.

Solution simplifies web service testing with impressive speed and accessibility
It is very easy for me to use and I highly prefer it compared to SoapUI and other products for performing its job. It is more handy and faster. It has impacted us very nicely. Postman is used for free by us. I'm not sure if there might be a paid version for multiple users. It is a very good product used for development. It is easy to install, as well as to learn, particularly for new users, even if they are not developers. I taught my business analyst to use it. I just showed them once, and it was easy for them to understand. For example, I gave them the URL and request format and asked them to test independently. They were able to use it on their own and do their testing as well. It was a good experience, especially for generally smart people, like those we usually hire in our company. It is pretty easy to explain, and learning it is not complex.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We do not face any lags."
"API routing is the most valuable feature."
"It's easy to install, and the performance is good."
"Postman is useful for API testing."
"It allowed us to understand the working and performance of the APIs."
"I rate Postman as a ten out of ten."
"It's easy to see different versions of responses."
"It is stable and reliable."
"Postman offers great features, so I get a better opportunity to run bulk tasks through single command lines and single APIs, and we have an internal Postman AI tool, which helps improvise the code and analyze the quality if you find any errors."
"It is a very stable solution."
"Postman is easy to use and enables us to test all possible API testing scenarios."

Cons

"It could be more secure because security is always a problem."
"The UI could be more attractive."
"The product must improve its security features."
"One of the primary challenges with Postman is handling authentication issues, especially relating to tokens and passwords."
"Should have a more improved easy-to-use interface."
"We have previously used Tosca which allowed us to verify information using authentications. It would be useful if this was also possible using Postman. In a future release, Postman should connect to DB."
"I rate the support for Postman a four out of five."
"I would like to see improvements in the maintenance of the scripts and their collections. It is really painful that the user cannot drag and drop. It was also painful to create the standard suite of operations for the product. I am not sure if this is improved in the tool’s latest versions. The maintenance of the complex scenarios prompted us to use the solution only for unit testing. In the future, we may switch to the k6 framework."
"There are definitely features that could be improved; for example, if you derive it from Ready API, maybe Postman can be a good contender and replicate some features such as more scripting and control over API calls."
"One of the features that is missing in Postman is reporting; it's very basic."
"Integration of the solution towards Bitbucket, BitHub, and CI pipelines is difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are using the open source version, so there is no cost involved."
"We are using the open-source version."
"It is free."
"We are currently using the free version, but we have plans to buy a license."
"This solution offers a free version."
"Its price is moderate as compared to other competitors. The version that we are using is not open source, so it is not free."
"We use the open-source version. They introduced a new licensing model where your company must subscribe to their services if you're using it for business purposes. However, I think they charge too much if you're only using the basic features. It limits what your organization can do if you're not a paying customer."
"I rate the price of Postman a four out of five."
"The solution has moderate pricing."
"The solution is free for individuals, but for companies that use it across the organization, you have to pay per user."
