Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Provides easy, one-click functionality and flexible backup policies and schedules for AWS workloads.""N2WS Backup & Recovery is very easy to use and configure backup for AWS instances.""The product is successful with the SMB market.""The backup and recovery are the most valuable features. So, our developers can work with confidence.""The most valuable feature is the ease of use.""The backup and restore functionality is very easy to use and manage.""The initial setup is easy.""The recovery time is fantastic and proven. Also, by providing a simple interface, the solution lowers the cost."

"It's easy to implement, easy to spin up, easily configurable, to drop-in appliances and network. There wasn't a lot of time needed to spin it up.""The most valuable feature of this solution is its ease of use.""It does automated tests to the systems to make sure that you could spin them up if you needed to. And if something doesn't come back up in those tests, we get a notification saying the system didn't come back up.""When it comes to recovering what you need from a backup, it's really easy. You just drill through the directory, find the file and the date that you want, and click to recover. You then pick the directory you want to save it in. Usually, it takes a minute or two and it's done. It's quick and easy.""A very high level security environment for secondary data.""The change in the way that Quorum processes data has made a tremendous improvement in backup and replication times. While the familiar interface remains, the underpinnings have been finely tuned and the speed is incredible. My large Exchange Server went from 5- to 6-hour backups down to 22 minutes.""I like this product because it is easy to use.""It is a very scalable solution."

Cons
"More documentation would be helpful, especially some step-by-step documents for recovery scenarios.""It's a global feature that the customer thinks they don't have enough tools to manage, to copy, to delay, and to classify the object file in the backup directory. So they need more tools to manage files in object directory.""There is room for improvement in stability.""The UI is a little dated and hard to use. Some of the buttons are a bit small. You have to go into the menu to get the settings you want.""The GUI has room for improvement.""The GUI could be slightly improved.""The solution has the option to take backup on-prem servers, but it's not very efficient.""Additional features I would like to see are the ability to restore to different vendors, AWS and Azure, and/or the ability or take the information out of the AWS cloud."

More N2WS Backup & Recovery Cons →

"It feels to me like it's going to be a little bit more work than I originally anticipated when upgrading the appliance. I haven't done that yet so I can't speak from true experience, but I went through the project plan and it feels to me like there's quite a number of pieces and components and things that have to be done. Quorum is going to manage the rollout, but in starting the initial conversation there were a lot of unanswered questions""The one thing they could do is some tweaking on the web solution that's supposed to monitor everything from one page, rather than having to bring each server up on its own webpage. It doesn't always accurately show what the system's state is at the time, and we have to restart that process now and then.""There was a situation I faced in the past when I contacted the tool's support team, and it took them a while to respond.""Quorum OnQ's user interface is not very attractive and should be made more attractive.""The cost could be reduced.""The price of Quorum OnQ could be improved. We were exploring the product in terms of having a partnership with the distributor so that we could operate as a service, but for our own use, within the company, we couldn't justify the price unless the servers would become an option later on. The upfront cost of purchasing a license for the hardware is quite steep.""There seems to be a lack of technicians. Sometimes they are very busy and I don't hear back for a day or two. The technicians they have are great. They are fantastic, but it seems difficult, at times, to get in contact with anyone.""Lacks compatibility in terms of supporting other OS."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The purchasing process through the AWS Marketplace is easy. Just click the button."
  • "The pricing and licensing on AWS is fine, because you can do it for smaller tiers depending on your number of instances, so it's not that scary."
  • "AWS adds more features and offer things for free, or cheaply. Therefore, we will be evaluating AWS Data Lifecycle Manager, because it will probably do backups. Thus, make sure the product that you are using is competitive or adds more value than AWS."
  • "It's very economical and worth the cost."
  • "It has very good pricing per instance and comes with three options, for both small and large environments, to fit your needs."
  • "The price is not cheap, nor is it costly."

  • "We have never questioned whether it is worth it because it so obviously is a great value."
  • "When we first got the Quorum the licensing was different."
  • "The cost is higher than other software and services, but it is an absolute must-have."
  • "The total for our current solution's licensing is about $14,000 for 12 servers for three years."
  • "The pricing is about $1,400 a month. It's a little bit on the higher side. But it's one of those situations where time is valuable for me. So if it costs a little bit more money for me to have a solution that just works and requires less of my day-to-day management, I'm willing to pay a little bit more."
  • "The initial expenditure for us was a little under $40,000 for the recent renewal. For the first three years after that, other than electricity, there's no cost. After that, their support contract has to be renewed annually. We spent close to $6,000, between the two offices, for support."
  • "When we quote the price of Quorum to customers, they find it expensive."
  • "The upfront cost of purchasing a license for the hardware is quite steep."
