Provides risk-free releases with control access and A/B testing
It allowed us to deploy faster. Despite having a rigorous code review process that slowed things down, once the code was reviewed, LaunchDarkly enabled safe deployments. If there was ever an issue, we could easily roll back a particular release by simply turning off the feature flag. When configuring and setting this up, begin with feature sets that are relatively small in scope. This helps build the necessary skills to leverage the product effectively while maintaining control over the blast radius, thus reducing risk to your customers and application in case of misconfiguration. As you gain more experience with the solution, it's crucial to have a process to manage feature flag sprawl, as mentioned earlier. Implementing a life cycle management system for your feature flags is essential. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten because of its intuitiveness and ease of use.

If you're dealing with many applications and need a reliable, scalable, and efficient system, I'd recommend this solution
Tekton's most important feature is its cloud-native nature. Unlike Jenkins, which may not scale as efficiently, Tekton's CI pipeline can automatically scale up to handle increased workload demands without needing manual adjustments. Another important aspect is the level of customization offered by Tekton. Each task in the CI pipeline can be customized independently, allowing developers to write code in various languages like shell scripting, Java, or Python and incorporate them into the pipeline as needed. This level of abstraction and customization greatly benefits developers in creating efficient CI pipelines. Also, it can be challenging to understand the logs and troubleshoot issues without clear guidance. It's not always easy to reach technical support and get immediate answers. In my opinion, improvement in this area would be beneficial.

"The initial setup is very easy."
"The ability to turn off a flag is crucial when a task is not complete, especially if there is an error in a commit."

"One of the best things I appreciate is that Tekton runs on the Kubernetes platform. This is very useful when working on a project with other team members. For instance, suppose we have a very big project that requires building a large amount of source code or running many unit tests. During the build and unit test phases, Tekton on Kubernetes allows us to have a scalable machine to handle these tasks. This scalability is the most useful aspect for me."
"The platform's most valuable feature is its cloud-native and Kubernetes-ready design."
"Tekton is a stable product."
"Tekton's most important feature is its cloud-native nature. Unlike Jenkins, which may not scale as efficiently, Tekton's CI pipeline can automatically scale up to handle increased workload demands without needing manual adjustments."
"I would say the customization ability that Tekton provides is good."
"The platform's most valuable feature is its wireless capability, which makes installation easy and sets up the flow."

Cons

"Right now, no improvements are needed."
"I have used LaunchDarkly for around two and a half years and I haven't faced any issues with it."
"The feature where one feature flag is dependent on another could be explored more for our usage."
"Fetching information about multiple flags in a single action would be beneficial."
"When the system has an excessive number of feature flags, managing them can become cumbersome."
"We need experience to use it, and the initial setup can be difficult. Also, sometimes it has breakdowns."
"I strongly believe they need to develop a strategy for handling situations where LaunchDarkly goes down."
"It would be better if Tekton could show the YAML file while it is running, similar to GitHub pipelines, to provide more visibility on what's happening."
"There might be occasional issues with storage or cluster-level logging, which can affect production."
"The product's UI could be improved, as there are occasional latency issues. The triggering part, especially the CRD installation needs enhancement."
"While Tekton is highly effective for Kubernetes-based setups, it might not suit users who require more control over bare-metal environments."
"The product's documentation is an area of concern, making it an area where improvements are required."
"Improvements could include introducing a UI-based pipeline development feature, such as drag and drop, which would help individuals with limited technical knowledge start building pipelines."

"The stability issues can be there."
