Securing cloud-native AI workloads has improved observability and reduced latency for partners
I think they need to continue developing their load balancing and possibly even a more efficient DNS system. User interfaces are dependent on each customer, whether they're going to use something like Grafana or, in our case at Cisco, we will be using Splunk. The observability parts within Timescape are fine, and I am sure they will improve over time. Governance and security depend on the approach each customer will take to deploying the systems. You can do the minimums or really dive into observability and governance over any of the ecosystems. This is an individual journey, and Isovalent makes it easier. Before Isovalent, we struggled with just simple pod observability with products like Kalisti that sat on the side of the sidecar. Adding all these products added latency, so we tuned the environment as quickly as possible to be as efficient as possible, especially if you're using cloud resources.

Aids significantly in the threat-hunting process and provides a score-based evaluation of user experience
There are many valuable features, but understanding end-user response times stands out. It provides a score-based evaluation of user experience, helping customers quickly pinpoint whether issues originate from the network, server, client, or application. Additionally, it facilitates in-depth analysis of application dependencies. The retrospective network analysis capability of Observer GigaStor has been beneficial. It's a pivotal feature for network performance solutions. However, I prefer to consider the entire solution suite - GigaStor, along with GigaFlow and Apex - for comprehensive network visibility and monitoring. So, I prefer to integrate all three solutions to provide the best visibility. They complement each other well, with Apex aggregating and correlating data from both GigaStor and GigaFlow to enhance environmental understanding and troubleshooting efficiency.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Isovalent has positively impacted our organization by enabling control over communications restrictions in microservices, an essential feature since Kubernetes defaults to allowing all pod communications, addressing crucial cyber security concerns and helping implement a zero-trust model, which aligns with our cyber team's requirements for security benchmarking and auditing."
"Isovalent is a quite good company, and I love their products."
"We have noticed reduced incidents as a specific outcome that shows how things improved."
"Isovalent has positively impacted my organization by helping improve the security and visibility."
"In reducing overall latency to the numbers I mentioned before, this has increased usability without spending more money, so a return on investment is instantaneous."
"Isovalent has impacted my organization positively as we are currently moving to Kubernetes and trying to add Cilium to manage networking."
"Using Isovalent's Cilium, I have seen that it will be really helpful for the design and implementation teams who are actually building this cluster and providing it to the end users."
"Isovalent being that standardized networking tool across all my environments has positively impacted my organization because I no longer need to spend too much time balancing effort maintaining different systems."
"Enables us to go back in time to capture an issue and analyze it for a solution, and this after the fact analysis is key to overcoming the bump in the night issues."
"I have no regrets using this product, I am very satisfied for what I paid for it and for the things I am able to do with the product."
"Industry-leading line rates, packet-capture technology and data-mining capabilities are the most valuable features."
"The ability to capture packets. It is not only for monitoring. That is very important for a company that wants to keep an eye on the packets, the transactions, the flows..."
"Go take a look at it. It's a great product and has great capabilities."
"There are many valuable features, but understanding end-user response times stands out. It provides a score-based evaluation of user experience, helping customers quickly pinpoint whether issues originate from the network, server, client, or application. Additionally, it facilitates in-depth analysis of application dependencies."
"It can help to write your rules, organize firewalls, your block, and also your protocols and IP address to come in or out of your network."
"This solution allows us to see exactly what is going on in the network and we can very quickly solve issues with users."

Cons

"I experienced some Hubble problems which were related to the huge internal traffic, which was somehow causing Hubble to hang and required a restart of Hubble."
"I have not seen a return on investment from my experience with Isovalent, so I do not have any comments on that."
"Additionally, the interface is very important to me because the user does not have the ability to see how Isovalent is working."
"Sometimes I feel the costing is a bit high, on the higher side."
"I think Isovalent can be improved by adding more labs."
"The only feedback I have about Isovalent is probably to lean on more documentation from the resource perspective, which is amazing."
"I think they need to continue developing their load balancing and possibly even a more efficient DNS system."
"The interface is pretty complex, so for the average user, it takes a while to get up to speed with it. I would like it to be more user-friendly."
"Maybe the graphical user interface could be simplified to allow people to use it more easily. It's already good, but they can work more on it to make it even easier."
"There are some issues, in our environment that puts processing restraints on the Gigastor when turning on trending data to be sent to APEX."
"The Observer Console UI is consistent and stable, but could use some updating to be more modern."
"I would like to have more than 4TB of storage available in the portable version of this solution."
"Graphics need improvement. Because a lot of the information there you have to input first in some case to have full potential. It could be more automated."
"GigaStor feeds into Apex. So, the area where there could be improvement would be in artificial intelligence. For example, the incorporation of more advanced machine learning or AI capabilities could enhance its functionality."
