Has supported complex data pipeline creation but performance tuning and monitoring responsiveness need improvement
Sometimes, I see various performance issues with Informatica PowerCenter, including caching concerns, whether it's a joiner transformation or other transformations, so I believe the team can enhance the performance perspectives of these transformations. Additionally, sometimes the Informatica Monitor hangs or takes time to open the current run or logs, which the team can also look into. Informatica is transitioning to cloud solutions and discontinuing on-premise support after 2026, so when we discuss Informatica Cloud and its support, it becomes quite expensive for the organization compared to peers such as SnapLogic or Netezza, which offer lower pricing. Informatica Cloud Intelligence's pricing is notably high.

Cons

"Support is also kind of difficult with Informatica. They don't do direct support and rely on using their distributors around the globe for support, which means that you kind of have to go through this layer of different companies before you get help."
"The UI is outdated and old-fashioned, at least in our current version. Also, we have experienced some stability issues with the Workflow Monitor application."
"Technical support could be faster."
"The real-time database connectivity when getting the real-time data using the VPN is an area that needs improvement."
"What needs improvement in Informatica PowerCenter is the cloud experience because, nowadays, other companies, such as AWS, Azure, and Google, have more experience in the cloud. The pricing for Informatica PowerCenter on the cloud is also very expensive for customers, so some customers prefer open-source tools or lower-priced tools, such as Azure."
"Informatica is transitioning to cloud solutions and discontinuing on-premise support after 2026, so when we discuss Informatica Cloud and its support, it becomes quite expensive for the organization compared to peers such as SnapLogic or Netezza, which offer lower pricing."
"While Informatica is great for data-integration, it does not have any analytics features. Thus, organizations have to always look for another product for their BI needs."
"Licensing is frustrating as you have to pay for some additional features."
"MashZone could be faster and provide more support for IoT platforms."
"If I try to analyze big data in MashZone, it is just impossible."
"MashZone could be faster and provide more support for IoT platforms."
"MashZone is not very good to use with big data, statistical analysis, or financial analysis. This is not what it is built to do."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"I rate the solution's pricing a four out of ten. The price is very high, and it doesn't understand the market now."
"Its licensing is expensive in terms of scaling."
"Licensing costs are excessive and pose an obstacle to someone who lacks familiarity with the solution and wishes to have a proper understanding of it."
"We are satisfied with the pricing."
"The price of Informatica PowerCenter is expensive, but it does give value."
"Our client has purchased the license, and we are using it."
