Has supported complex data pipeline creation but performance tuning and monitoring responsiveness need improvement
Sometimes, I see various performance issues with Informatica PowerCenter, including caching concerns, whether it's a joiner transformation or other transformations, so I believe the team can enhance the performance perspectives of these transformations. Additionally, sometimes the Informatica Monitor hangs or takes time to open the current run or logs, which the team can also look into. Informatica is transitioning to cloud solutions and discontinuing on-premise support after 2026, so when we discuss Informatica Cloud and its support, it becomes quite expensive for the organization compared to peers such as SnapLogic or Netezza, which offer lower pricing. Informatica Cloud Intelligence's pricing is notably high.

Real-time data with a user-friendly interface
The most valuable features are real-time data, introspective data, and input data. The interface is also very easy to use MashZone could be faster and provide more support for IoT platforms. I've been using MashZone NextGen Business Analytics for three years. This solution is stable. I believe…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With Informatica PowerCenter, we were able to overcome all the performance bottlenecks and we were able to standardize the ETL layer."
"Can manage a huge quantity of data and provide reliability."
"It's a complete package, which is why we use this solution."
"The most valuable features are the metadata repository and the data warehouse application console."
"PowerCenter's ETL functionalities have made the entire data flow and data pipeline creation very easy in my organization."
"Informatica is scalable, it's perfect."
"They know what they're doing, and it's a more mature tool compared to Talend."
"Informatica PowerCenter is a scalable solution; expanding is easy, and we can execute multiple workflows based on events, and I don't see any constraints, and it looks pretty good."
"Mashzone is the best product on the market for process analysis."
"This solution is made to be easy-to-use. If you can use Excel, you can use MashZone."
"The most valuable features are real-time data, introspective data, and input data, and the interface is also very easy to use."
"The technical support from Germany is very good."

Cons

"The real-time database connectivity when getting the real-time data using the VPN is an area that needs improvement."
"As all ETL tools in general, it does not include a good data reporting feature."
"The initial setup was complex. There were many performance problems and some migrations took a long time to be implemented."
"The documentation could be improved."
"PowerCenter has three clients. I wish they would consolidate everything into one GUI, not three. Also, we had a persistent issue with the Informatica Developer tool but it was solved when we migrated to the newest one."
"The licensing is difficult."
"The solution's commercial cost is very high. Other open-source tools can do the tool's functions for free. The world is moving to the cloud, but the solution hasn't updated its drivers. I presume that its downfall will start soon. The tool is trying to cross-sell or upsell without helping customers derive benefits from the existing products. They have multiple tools and licenses. It is better to bring the smaller tools in one umbrella."
"The only problem with this product is the level of complexity with the number of levels of transformation that you have to go through."
"If I try to analyze big data in MashZone, it is just impossible."
"MashZone is not very good to use with big data, statistical analysis, or financial analysis. This is not what it is built to do."
"MashZone could be faster and provide more support for IoT platforms."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are using an annual license for Informatica PowerCenter."
"I rate the product's price a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."
"Our customers pay a licensing fee yearly."
"Its licensing is expensive in terms of scaling."
"Price-wise, it's more expensive than SSIS, but it's a better tool, so it has more features. Licensing is on a yearly basis."
"Its maintenance is expensive."
"I would rate the pricing for this solution a six out of ten. The exact pricing depends on various products that you have."
"We have a site license, but we do pay by the division."
