Has supported complex data pipeline creation but performance tuning and monitoring responsiveness need improvement
Sometimes, I see various performance issues with Informatica PowerCenter, including caching concerns, whether it's a joiner transformation or other transformations, so I believe the team can enhance the performance perspectives of these transformations. Additionally, sometimes the Informatica Monitor hangs or takes time to open the current run or logs, which the team can also look into. Informatica is transitioning to cloud solutions and discontinuing on-premise support after 2026, so when we discuss Informatica Cloud and its support, it becomes quite expensive for the organization compared to peers such as SnapLogic or Netezza, which offer lower pricing. Informatica Cloud Intelligence's pricing is notably high.

"Informatica PowerCenter is worth the money to use for its benefits."
"We use Informatica PowerCenter to transfer the transitional database to and from the data warehouse, and this is very efficient as it enables us to quickly find our data reports and the data, so we can build AI models."
"Informatica is scalable, it's perfect."
"Mashzone is the best product on the market for process analysis."
"MashZone is the best for process analysis."

"This solution is made to be easy-to-use. If you can use Excel, you can use MashZone."

Cons

"Configuration is complicated and could be simplified; it requires experience, and not many people have that."
"The multiple interfaces in Informatica PowerCenter are not great for the user experience. Because of this, I think it can cause confusion for any beginner developer."
"I would like to see improvements made to the custom transformations. It should be more open for users that want to write their own code and use cases."
"One of the things that I found lacking is that there should be some sort of a calculator where you can input your requirements regarding the number of data switches required, number of users, and the number of data switches in order to get a general idea of cost."
"The product hangs and you can lose control for several hours. It works, but it hangs."
"Informatica PowerCenter can be improved by integrating features that allow scheduling a workflow more easily on the main window itself, and also, I miss the ability to connect to several repositories at the same time; if that's possible, it would be very handy."
"What needs improvement in Informatica PowerCenter is the cloud experience because, nowadays, other companies, such as AWS, Azure, and Google, have more experience in the cloud. The pricing for Informatica PowerCenter on the cloud is also very expensive for customers, so some customers prefer open-source tools or lower-priced tools, such as Azure."
"Informatica, in my opinion, is very rigid and not very flexible, whereas platforms like Alteryx or Matillion are very flexible and agile."
"MashZone could be faster and provide more support for IoT platforms."
"MashZone is not very good to use with big data, statistical analysis, or financial analysis. This is not what it is built to do."
"If I try to analyze big data in MashZone, it is just impossible."
"MashZone could be faster and provide more support for IoT platforms."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Informatica PowerCenter is reasonably priced. It is less expensive than Pentaho. There is a standard version fee in Taiwan. It is a one-time yearly subscription price that is approximately $3,010 US dollars for three users."
"I consider this to be an expensive product."
"The price is mostly reasonable."
"The solution is in the middle price range compared to other solutions."
"The license model is CPU based."
"Since the solution's cost is higher, I rate the pricing as a five out of ten."
"Price-wise, it's more expensive than SSIS, but it's a better tool, so it has more features. Licensing is on a yearly basis."
"We have a site license, but we do pay by the division."
