Good prediction capability for marketing purposes, although it needs to be more flexible
I found it very hard to change the algorithm that is used for prediction and I think that this solution can be more flexible. It looks like more of a black box in some cases and there are few ways to intervene and specify actions. Using IBM Predictive Analytics requires more skill, resources, and training than some other solutions. In the next release of this solution, I would like to see better integration with business solutions so that the data can be more easily accessed.

Seamless integration, collaborative features, and enhances data exploration
There are several areas for improvement in SAP Analytics Cloud. Firstly, features available in SAP Lumira are missing in SAP Analytics Cloud. Secondly, the predictive analytics functions, although promising, are currently only suitable for Proof of Concepts (POCs) and not for industrial-scale use. Lastly, the pricing model for the planning functionality is quite high and presents an entry barrier.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the predictive capability in marketing use cases."
"I would recommend this solution for companies that are SAP dependent with users working in this environment."
"The ease of use of the solution is its most valuable feature. We haven't tried all of the features yet. The graphing and the ease of using the analytics tools have been great. It's all drag and drop; you don't need to code anything."
"The SKU, the story build all are user- friendly. For the story build one just has to drag and drop it. And for the table, you just need some sort of selections and everything there."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is superior to other tools in terms of planning and forecasting."
"The ability to collaborate and plan together is great."
"It is easy to integrate with SAP ERP and BW systems, allowing smooth data transfer and live connections without much development."
"The most valuable features are the analytical application and the user story."
"A robust solution."

Cons

"Using IBM Predictive Analytics requires more skill, resources, and training than some other solutions."
"Could be more user-friendly; somewhat complicated to use."
"One area for improvement in SAP Analytics Cloud is incorporating Python into the coding. That functionality is available, but it's not as efficient, and it's a bit difficult sometimes to do it, so that could be improved."
"Sometimes there are speed issues with big deletion data."
"The scope is limited to a few accounts."
"Sometimes we have difficulty connecting to a SharePoint list."
"There is plenty of room for improvement. They have different products, and you need to integrate all of them to have one functionality. For example, data extraction happens in Datasphere. Then it would be best if you had some connection between the Datasphere and the SAP Analytics Cloud to get the data, as this is causing headaches sometimes. The knowledge base and Jedox also could be more meaningful. I have tried to search for some specific knowledge base and technology base, and I didn't find them. I have learned it by trial and error. There is room to improve the integrations between the different products. The AFS, and the Data action, need improvement. Sometimes they release new tools and updates, but not in my area."
"We are currently working on connectivity with S/4HANA, but we would like to have better connectivity with our legacy systems."
"The main area that needs improvement is visualization."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It is not the most expensive one. You have to do the cost-of-ownership analysis and take a lot of things into consideration to come up with the conclusion that it is cheaper or not, but its price is reasonable. It provides value for money."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is expensive. The price is a big issue if you compare it with other solutions from different vendors."
"The price is competitive. There is a power user license and normal user license, but the normal user license is reasonable."
"Its pricing is okay as compared to its competitors."
"It is a bit expensive, but really worth it, especially if you are already using other SAP tools."
"I don't have the exact price for SAP Analytics Cloud, but it could be improved and made cheaper, especially when compared to Power BI."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is a bit higher [in price]. Because, if Microsoft can afford a better product and lower cost, SAP can afford at least the same, or even lower."
"This solution offers value for money and you get what you pay for."
