Sisense has some limitations, especially in rendering tables or graphs. For example, if you want to perform custom sorting or searching based on multiple columns, that becomes quite tricky. Providing more control over how the data is sorted or filtered would be quite useful. Additionally, it could provide more connectors to integrate with emerging different data sources to exponentially increase the amount of data it can handle. Sisense should provide more support for CI/CD, as we found the CI/CD approach quite limited, which is something that can be worked on. Some data scientists suggested more features can be offered by providing different models for data analytics. Sisense can improve by adding more features for handling complex schemas and making the pricing straightforward. The dashboarding features are good enough, but additional features could make it even more attractive. Also, CI/CD support or source control support would be really helpful.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's valuable features are that it is easy to use and stable."
"The product helps us update the KPI automatically."
"It is a pretty stable solution."
"The main feature that is useful is the on-demand report generation through the dashboard."
"Sisense positively impacts our organization by speeding up the process of getting and presenting the data to customers or stakeholders, which normally takes a lot of time due to curation and presentation efforts."
"Sisense also allowed us to achieve some less conventional projects like abstracting the effect of the price increases on our sales."
"This solution is easy to learn how to use."
"Sisense's documentation and video tutorials were thorough and helpful in starting off with the basic usage of the product."
"Whenever we have an issue or are unsure how to proceed, they manage to simplify the issue and help us execute it in a graceful and scalable way."
"The best part about this solution is how easy it is to mash up the data from many sources, and Sisense is fast compared to other solutions."
"There are many built-in connectors, which allow us to easily add new sources of data, often in minutes."
"Support is very responsive and clearly one of the strengths of Sisense. I have always received a fast response and the staff is very helpful."

Cons

"The scalability of the product's on-premises version is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"The price point is one of the major areas to be improved."
"Visualization is an area where the product lacks."
"They should include proper documentation to learn more about the product."
"We are moving to a better tool."
"Sisense has some limitations, especially in rendering tables or graphs. For example, if you want to perform custom sorting or searching based on multiple columns, that becomes quite tricky."
"Sometimes the platform works great, but other times, it's a drag and users are always on our necks to speed it up."
"I would like to see an improvement in the live data connection, specifically making the process faster."
"I would say that using Sisense on Linux's platform might not be advantageous for everyone."
"This solution does not have tabs. In order to have tabs, you have to download an add-on to mimic the tabs. They should be integrated to improve the solution."
"I did encounter an issue with the Dashboard load time to be slow considering that we had a basic dashboard with five reports and no more than 300 rows was disconcerting."
"The only thing I am missing is the option to plug in any data from any source easily since Sisense only offers a limited amount of supported data providers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive for small businesses compared to other vendors."
"Licensing is based on individual usage, and it is more expensive than other providers."
"This solution is more expensive than Tableau, Qlik and Dundas. It is an expensive tool. They charge $75,000 while Tableau is $45,000."
"Compared to Power BI or Tableau, Sisense is much more expensive."
