Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Gave a better output every time, reduced our touch time by 80%, and had a robust reporting mechanism to improve the process
We tested HyperScience on structured formats of the forms, and it worked really well. We tested it with semi-structured formats, and it worked well. We also tested creating a new form that does not have any format. HyperScience has less capability while working on unstructured forms. Unstructured forms are those where there is no standard structure and the information can be anywhere on the form. They need to develop this capability. Such a capability would make it a perfect system for processes like data entry, accounts tables, etc. Secondly, before putting the actual volume in the tool, I believe that we have to create a manual form every time. If the procedure of creating the forms can be shortened or automated, it would help. It would reduce the manual effort of creating a form every time you start working on it. There should be an automated form creation system that does not require any manual intervention. Whenever a new form comes, the system should be able to create a dummy form for that. That will help.

Valuable connectivity and coherent solutions simplify maintenance but require cost adjustments for industry-based needs
There are areas of improvement, especially in having industry-based solutions that we could easily tap on. It would help reduce the time spent on feeding information and creating outputs. More flexibility and specific models for specific purposes would be beneficial. Additionally, pricing is a concern as IQ Bot is considered costly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The Object Cloning command is the most useful feature. Through the use of this command, between 30% and 40% of the process automation is complete."
"I consider the verification station very useful because it allows you to quickly check if the data extracted are correct or if you need to change the process."
"I like the OCR feature, where we can capture information from PDFs."
"The platform is easy to use, especially for business users."
"Automating a tedious manual process has helped to reduce manual work and the time taken to process the records."
"We work on SAP as well as many other internal platforms, and this solution can very easily be moved between them."
"The Automation Anywhere software has improved our organization by moving us into the RPA climate and allowing us to save on our overhead."
"Automation Anywhere has provided the capability to automate repetitive tasks for the organization, which in turn has lead to a lot of cost-savings."
"HyperScience is good for structured and semi-structured document extraction and it's easy to learn."
"Having a tool like HyperScience which facilitates the process of converting digital copies of the scanned documents and provides us with the extracted data has helped us to facilitate further automation."
"One of the most valuable features of HyperScience is the user-training module. Whenever the extraction takes place, based on the way we have trained HyperScience, it would give us some success status or a certain confidence level. If the solution has processed something that it determined was not extracted correctly it will queue those items for manual review."
"If accuracy and customer satisfaction are your goals, then you should go for this solution."
"For our use case, it provided a complete workflow, reduced our existing touch time by 80%, and from the point of view of technology, it is one of the leading platforms right now in the OCR world."
"Has algorithms that can detect a document template even if the image has a lot of distortions."
"What I liked more about HyperScience was the quality of the OCR it is a lot better compared to Google."
"We have seen pretty good accuracy."
"PDF classification and basic data extraction are useful features."
"The most valuable feature of IQ Bot is the Discovery Bots. They can detect and analyze for improvements."
"The solution is very stable."
"The way that the learning combines with the OCR is the solution's most valuable aspect."
"IQ Bot is quite user-friendly. And the drag-and-drop option is there, which makes the developer more comfortable."
"IQ Bot has the capability to identify changes and remap its settings accordingly. It also has the ability to learn."
"The flexibility to deploy based on the different types is the most valuable. We can deploy pieces of the program directly over the fields. We can also directly connect with databases. We can modify it and make different connections with the database. We are also able to programmably modify the fields and change the presentation and values or evaluate a list of values. We can change the values on the fly. It is very flexible and very easy to use and learn. It is also very simple."
"It is very easy to set up and use this tool to get information from documents. It can get the information about the purchase order number, average, description of purchase orders in several formats without any problem."

Cons

"Integration with other platforms may prove to be very interesting for us and others."
"Automation Anywhere can be improved in certain areas specified in the cognitive zone where the information needs better OCR Engine + Machine Learning capabilities. Also, they can improve on the System Identified region function of the IQ Bot - Our team faced a tough time in handling that as we were not able to assign variable to System Identified Region as the IQ Bot tool wasn't allowing it."
"The initial setup was complex because we had to make sure all the security aspects were approved by our leadership."
"In the debugging mode, it writes all the logs to text files, but it doesn't ever clean them up. We had one that got to 200K, and it bogged our whole machine down. We couldn't figure out what was going on until we found out that we had a 200K file sitting out there. We would like some sort of maintenance on the log files going forward."
"I have noticed that after the bots have been delivered to run in a production environment, there are issues in terms of quality and performance."
"Their OCR is a bit expensive, meaning the IQ Bot."
"Since Automation Anywhere's Japan office was only recently opened, it seems the support has not been as good as support for other package applications."
"We are not getting consistent behavior from the tool We would like to see this improved and the product more stable."
"The product's usability could be better."
"The product's usability could be better. The first pain point is that we're getting the output in a different format, and we were expecting a different timetable. The second point is that if you want better results, HyperScience says you have to configure a minimal PDF or a maximum of 400 PDFs. If you want results with 400 PDFs for what's written by these doctors, then you also configure the maximum of 400 templates for that. So, it's essentially a lack of support from HyperScience. In the next release, it would be better if failure scenarios were reduced. It would also help if they offered different formats, inputs or injections, and added different scenarios."
"HyperScience is a stable solution, but there are some improvements needed in terms of the language support and support of dictionaries."
"The solution is expensive."
"They could work on the price and make it a bit more reasonable."
"The solution lacks support for a greater range of languages."
"HyperScience has less capability while working on unstructured forms. Unstructured forms are those where there is no standard structure and the information can be anywhere on the form. They need to develop this capability."
"HyperScience could improve the unstructured data extraction feature."
"It would be good if the solution could extract or capture details from unstructured data."
"The success rate must be improved."
"I've used versions 11 and 2019 of this solution. The problem with version 11 is integration. When you are using a conventional bot and you try to use IQ Bot development, you don't have a specific feature for integrating these two pieces or components of Automation Anywhere. I was seeing some issues while trying to, for example, send some PDF to an IQ Bot processor and get a response for that process. So, there is a problem with integrating the conventional task automation and IQ Bot in version 11. In contrast, version 2019 already has the integration feature, and we can easily integrate two components. There are some features that must be there in version 11 but are currently missing. There is no total control over some features in IQ Bot. Some variables cannot be parametrized when using IQ Bot directly. The AI features that IQ Bot has must be more open to being parameterized by the user. It would be good if Automation Anywhere exposed some parameters so that I can adjust them as a customer. This is an improvement that Automation Anywhere can do. I would like to see some features related to deep learning in the next releases of IQ Bot. These will be some interesting features to see."
"It should be easier to install and configure. Its initial setup is complex, and there is a lack of structured documentation."
"If you train with less amount of data, your accuracy goes down, and the confidence score goes down."
"Initially, there was one issue when we were trying to switch from a development environment to a production environment. We needed to transpose or expose a bot to the production environment, and we had some issues where the in-built input feature stopped working for extended periods."
"I think Automation Anywhere has a partnership with Google. I hope they integrate Google's OCR engine in some way with IQ Bot because the OCR engine that Google produces provides an in-built accuracy of close to 99%. That is the integration we are looking for, but we need to pay for IQ Bot. If they can integrate both and come up with better pricing, then it will be a huge boost because, in that case, the quality of an image or PDF quality is taken completely out of difficulty as Google tends to extract the data. That is something I am looking for if this happens."
"There are issues with the technology identifying a signature."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a free trial so that they can get an overview, and there are different licenses that are very affordable and can suit every business model."
"The price is very reasonable."
"The licensing needs to be made simpler or shortened."
"When you compare the cost of Automation Anywhere with UiPath and Blue Prism, those others are much less. Licensing-wise, UiPath wins the deal."
"Time and monetary savings can range from 20 to 90 percent."
"Our annual licensing costs are around $100,000 a year."
"The licensing cost for Automation Anywhere is high."
"I think it's $5,500 per license."
"I don't have any idea about the licensing costs, but I know that there was a per-page charge. They had different models of pricing. One of them was based on the minimum number of pages, and we had a fixed price. So, the price model depends on the volume that is coming through HyperScience."
"I think HyperScience is cheaper when compared to other tools. They also have a lifetime licensing option."
"Pricing for IQ Bot isn't good because if you're paying a lot and you're still getting some problems from it, then you can't give it a good rating. You have to compare how much you're taking out of your pocket with what you're getting from the solution. For example, I have a client paying $30 or $40 for the solution, but sometimes, he's still getting exceptions or errors from it. The cost of IQ Bot is too high, so people are hesitant to purchase the license for it. On a scale of one to five, with one being expensive, and five being affordable, I'm giving IQ Bot pricing a one."
"The price could be lower."
"If you make use of only a few bots, this solution is very cheap."
"With the Cloud, the price goes up and down. You only pay for what you use."
"I feel that the price of IQ Bot could be lower."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"There are others like Automation Anywhere offering similar kinds of bots for less. Most of the platforms are the same, and most of the features are the same, but not the licensing cost."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis, and I am happy with the pricing."
