Real-time data replication and integration streamline processes and enhance productivity
The most valuable feature of Fivetran so far is the data replication. The real-time data replication is what I see best in the market where it reduces the overhead of customers needing to maintain the pipeline. Even when an error occurs, it automatically tries to solve the issue without manual interaction needed. The effectiveness of Fivetran's pre-built connectors in enhancing my customer's productivity is significant because everything is easily configurable. The documentation is very clear, so there's no difficulty in finding the necessary steps. Everything is pre-documented. The pre-built connectors that are available are excellent. Most functionalities are covered, and in most cases, it works according to expectations.

Easy to use and deploy, user-friendly, and minimally intrusive
We are in the Philippines, and the support that we are getting is from France or Italy. We are in a different time zone, and sometimes, it can take five hours or more than five hours to get a response from them, but overall, their support is good. Most of our problems were solved.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is easy for users to get accustomed to the tool due to its gentle learning curve and clear error transparency."
"The most important feature of the solution is its ability to build data pipelines in less time."
"The simplicity and scalability are the strongest features of Fivetran."
"Its arrays are powerful enough to handle migrations even when the replication is happening in the background, without causing any trouble with the ongoing traffic."
"The simplicity of the solution is its valuable feature."
"It is not like a traditional ETL, but it gives quite a lot of flexibility."
"The solution is stable. We've never faced any stability issues."
"You can manage all of your connectors individually, which gives you a very good ability to trace which one of your ETL processes is running and when."
"Syniti Data Replication is very easy to use. It is user-friendly and easy to set up. You can provide or create connections with just a simple click. It is minimally intrusive."

Cons

"Fivetran could improve in the area of customization, especially in how they socialize their tools."
"In our case, we ultimately did not end up using Fivetran because we were able to do custom connects at a lower cost compared to Fivetran. From a cost perspective, if the number of connectors is lesser, then Fivetran is not the most cost-efficient option."
"Some of the pain points we're looking at are trying to integrate some of the items in the Microsoft stack, so SharePoint and Excel, and then some of the newer Azure services."
"The connections with SAP must be improved."
"The documentation is decent, but it's hard to find information online about Fivetran. For example, if you try to search for an error code, you won't find much information about it in forums."
"Fivetran is very expensive for data sources with a lot of rows, such as email data. I would like to see cheaper pricing for data sources like that."
"It should have a few more monitoring functionalities."
"The documentation can be laid out better to make it easier to find things, and I really wish there was built-in support for changing passwords. Some features don't work as advertised for the platform/repository database, and HVR is not always the fastest at getting results."
"There should be an option to easily create tables from its graphical user interface. Its price should also be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would say they're a little bit on the expensive side, and their contract process is not particularly good, but there is a lot of potential flexibility."
"The product is reasonably expensive"
"I've heard that the license for HVR is a bit costly compared to its competitors, but since it's reliable and efficient, I think the customer shouldn't be bothered about the cost."
"The solution is affordable."
"Fivetran is very expensive, and its database-driven pricing model is outdated."
"I can't give exact amounts because that's based on usage, but it's more expensive than some of its competitors."
"I rate the pricing a six out of ten."
"The pricing model is okay and mid to large companies will not have an issue with it."
"I don't have any visibility on the price because I am on the technical side, but based on what our client said, it is more expensive than other products. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
