We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Its performance in fulfilling our requirements has been satisfactory.""FortiGate is flexible and easy to use.""Its user interface is good, and it is always working fine.""This solution made it very easy to manage our bandwidth.""Fortinet FortiGate is a security device. It can optimize security on the networks of a company. It actually protects the company from attacks from outside. With FortiGate, you can categorize the users. You can create a group of users that can access all of the websites for their work. You can limit other users' access.""FortiGate Secure SD-WAN includes best-of-breed next-generation firewall (NGFW) security, SD-WAN, advanced routing, and WAN optimization capabilities, delivering a security-driven networking WAN edge transformation in a unified offering.""The most important feature, normally for small business customers, is link load balancing.""The next-gen features, the unified threat management capabilities are something that just about everybody is interested in at this point."

"Huawei was able to assist us in the installation of their product. The installation was very fast.""The solution's initial setup process is easy.""The tool helps us to integrate with other brands.""The UI is quite good.""I am impressed with the product's antivirus features, strong encryption, policy implementation and easier installation.""The support for the solution has been excellent. If we ever had an issue they would send an engineer to help us with our problem.""The security is good. It's as effective as anything else on the market.""We make use of the new data center, specifically the containerized data center which is built and reviewed by Huawei, including all the device's infrastructure."

More Huawei NGFW Pros →

"I'm told the solution is the fastest, and, so far, I do find that to be the case.""The initial setup was very straightforward. There was no problem. The initial deployment took about one hour.""There are a few valuable features that offer very good quality on the solution. Especially NetScreen. We used to use NetScreen for the the product line. It was a very mature solution, very robust, easy to configure, easy to manage, etc. It made it easy to do everything.""It is easy for me to go in and update settings, make changes, or add/remove rules or security.""The pricing is reasonable.""The most valuable features are application filtering, content filtering, the intrusion prevention system (IPS), and definitely the application firewall.""The solution has good features.""The architecture of the OS in Juniper is very good. It's flexibility, scalability, and the technicality is also good."

Cons
"Sometimes you do need to know some CLI commands, so it's a bit harder for technicians or new people that don't know it.""In the next release, I would like to see the interface simplified to be more user-friendly.""The setup is pretty complex and not easy to implement.""The ease of use could be improved.""There were quite a few problems with the stability of the system.""In the next release, maybe the documentation on how to use this solution could be improved.""The UTM filtering needs improvement.""At first glance, the interface for the device is very confusing."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"The solution could be cheaper.""One issue is integration. Huawei can't detect Indicators of Compromise (IoC). I can get a lot of information about security, but can't automatically input the EP, domain URL, and file hashes I get from Hackersworld into my blocklist.""Wi-Fi scanning and Wi-Fi analysis would be useful features to include in the future.""There needs to be more security equipment for the solution.""The documentation needs to be improved. When they retire old models, they also retire the documentation. However, if you are still using an older model, you still need access to that documentation. And yet, they go ahead and removed it. It's gone. You are therefore stuck with a device with no documentation and technical support that isn't very helpful as they also remove support assistance as well.""The solution requires a more interactive dashboard. That would make it easier than playing with configurations the way we have to now.""With the Huawei firewall, none of the features comes at the top. We found out later that customer support is really not good. For this firewall, because of our customers' routine, for example, every six months they'll do a penetration test to find weaknesses. So whenever they came up with VAPT reports, they are looking to Huawei for help. I think that's basically because it's a different culture. Chinese culture and our culture is different. They have always tried to help find some excuses or say some other things that cannot help you solve the problem immediately.""The solution doesn't seem to be very mature. Our networking team says they are experiencing a lot of issues in the firewalls and some routers."

More Huawei NGFW Cons →

"In the next release, I would like to see improvements made to the GUI because it isn't very good.""The reporting can be improved.""Fortinet is more user friendly than Juniper. In terms of remote access, I actually prefer using Fortinet. It's much easier to configure.""The tool's basic license does not cover everything. It needs to improve visibility and availability.""The user interface could always be better. They could make it simpler and more intuitive.""The solution can be improved by allowing automatic updates for the OS devices.""The solution should consider improving its licensing policies.""They could provide support for cloud deployments."
