Integration platform has simplified logistics workflows and has streamlined complex order handling
The best aspect is that it is very easy to use. The UI is very intuitive, and you can learn it very quickly because the basic principles are straightforward and easy to search. Frends has a great UI, but the UI is missing role-based permissions. You can filter your integrations by roles and add several users to roles, but in the UI, the functionality for this kind of management feature is not optimal. User management or user role management could be improved.

We use the existing services hosted in Microsoft Azure API Management without making any changes. For transformation capabilities, we utilize ADF, Data Factory instead of Microsoft Azure API Management. Regarding security features in Microsoft Azure API Management, we utilize token bearer authentication. As retailers with integration to our channel partners, we haven't experienced any security issues with Microsoft Azure API Management since it isn't exposed to external parties. We use a basic Azure function hosted in Microsoft Azure API Management rather than the integrated developer portal. Tracking analytics and performance analytics in Microsoft Azure API Management is straightforward. We use basic features for performance analytics and log analytics due to additional subscription charges. We enabled log analytics for Microsoft Azure API Management in the past month to investigate issues such as unreachable endpoints or request timeouts.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The user-friendly interface for constructing integration solutions is also a notable benefit."
"The product has valuable features for version control."
"One of the benefits is the speed of creating something new. Second, it's replacing the old integration quite fast. Then it is like the visibility of the integration and the possibility to see what is happening in the integration."
"The best aspect is that it is very easy to use."
"Support is very good. We have a direct line of contact with Microsoft product management's technical support."
"The simplicity to learn and apply using API Management is valuable."
"Microsoft Azure API Management is a good, comprehensive solution for enterprise implementation."
"The tool's most valuable feature is the integration of CI/CD with the API gateway."
"We're pretty much using all of the monetizations features out of the API manager so we can put up a portal and have a dev portal and then a prod portal and do rate limiting."
"The solution has significantly improved our organization by providing a user-friendly and easy-to-deploy API management system."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft Azure API Management are the easy configuration and deployment with automation."
"The ease of use of the solution is excellent."

Cons

"One of the primary areas for improvement is a more mobile-friendly interface for the control center."
"It is a new application and lacks some essential features compared to competitors."
"Another enhancement includes the monitoring part. It would be nice to have some sort of maybe mobile app on which we can see how integrations are running if there are some problems, and getting those alerts on the mobile would be really nice."
"Logging should be better."
"The cloud deployment performance could be better. Technical support could use some improvement."
"The licensing part of Microsoft is always higher than other platforms, like Amazon services and other cloud services. Microsoft should work on reducing the cost."
"I could that the UI could be improved."
"The developer console for external users could be improved, especially in the testing site."
"I did follow the prescribed steps to export our Test subscription setup to import into a production subscription environment, but I was unable to achieve the export within the short amount of time I had to achieve it."
"The cloud deployment of Microsoft Azure API Management could be better."
"The portal where we publish the APIs could be improved. Maybe this is because we didn't configure it. It is quite easy to bypass API management because we have a lot of information shared on the portal, where we publish our APIs. I worry there is potential for a security breach in the API publishing. There needs to be more security available on terms of the way we publish them."
"The product's navigation feature needs enhancement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is quite fair."
"Recent changes in their pricing have removed this benefit, moving towards process-specific pricing."
"Azure API Management is the most expensive solution on the market."
"The solution appears cheaper because it's a cloud SaaS model."
"The solution is highly expensive. Our customers worry about the costs. The price should be a lot less."
"Microsoft is competitively priced."
"There are additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"I rate the solution's pricing between three and four, as it could be more competitive."
"This is an expensive solution."
"It's an expensive solution"
