Pros
"An affordable and stable solution for small-medium companies.""SD-WAN and the security fabric are essential features of the product.""What I like about the solution is that it can be accessed anywhere.""Based on my use cases, Fortinet FortiSwitch - Data Center was a great product that was easy to manage and work with while being a powerful tool.""A valuable feature of FortiGate is its management integrity.""The solution has made configuration and setup very, very easy.""We are able to monitor everything that is happening on our network.""It integrates well."

"This is a lower cost product with better features than the competition.""Juniper supports all our connectivity infrastructure in our datacenter, supporting optimal availability and performance for services.""The product is very helpful in troubleshooting.""The Virtual Chassis, because you have a centralized administration of a set of switches which makes the operation more efficient.""Juniper Ethernet Switches are high-end solutions.""It is a highly stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine to ten out of ten.""The most valuable features of Juniper Ethernet Switches are the simple configuration and ruggedness.""It's easy to use."

Cons
"Managing the VLANs is an area where the solution lacks and needs to improve.""Before using FortiSwitch, you need several certifications.""FortiSwitch should improve the FortiGate map. The diagram cannot move automatically to show the switch. The map does not map the physical location. It cannot move or touch the diagram.""The solution’s pricing could be improved.""The tool is not easy to use.""The solution can improve by upgrading QSFP+, it is very limited and must be supported more than it is now. If we need FortiSwitches to support all the QSFP ports our budgets would have to be very large.""The solution could always benefit from more security. It's of critical importance to organizations right now.""The UI of the firewall and reporting could be improved."

"Juniper Ethernet Switches' operating systems get corrupted when the power fails. They have to improve this issue. I may have to use a newer version.""In an upcoming release, Juniper Ethernet Switches could improve by having more microservices.""In the next release of this solution, I would like to see better integration with software-defined networking.""The Virtual Chassis Fabric is kind of complicated to troubleshoot sometimes. On the MPLS side, they're good — they're fine for the pseudo-wires and stuff—but they need more work on the LAN. It is difficult to troubleshoot their LAN technologies like Virtual Chassis.""The initial setup for Juniper switches is complex. Juniper has a new program that solves that problem a little bit, but it is expensive, so I don't use it. It is Juniper Mesh, Juniper Wire, or something like that where you plug in a switch, and it goes out to their cloud, finds a config, and brings it down. So, you can do everything cloud-based, but there is a fee for that. It is expensive, so I've never used it. If we were starting, we would try to do something like that. It is more for a large enterprise for managing hundreds of switches versus what we're doing. They should make its price more cost-effective or include it for new or smaller companies.""The updates are constantly breaking.""One potential drawback of the Juniper EX Series has been that those without experience using a command-line interface (CLI) may find it intimidating. However, Junos is working on improving this by offering tools, such as Juniper Mist with Wired Assurance and Apstra. Additionally, the graphical user interface (GUI) could be improved as it has been considered lackluster across the board in Junos.""Juniper Ethernet Switches would be improved by upgrading the uplink port in EX2300 categories service from 10G to 25G."
