Logging and vector search have transformed observability and empowered reliable ai agents
Elastic Search is not specifically being used for certain purposes. I deploy Elastic Search database on the cloud and use cloud services so that nobody can attack. However, I do not use Elastic Search to resolve attack issues. The basic main purpose of Elastic Search, as of now, I feel it can do more in the AI area. Sometime I saw that when I am developing RAG and have to generate the embeddings, which I call metadata, sometimes it tries to fail. That durability or issue handling should be improved, but apart from that, I did not find anything as of now. As per my use case, whatever I am using seems pretty good. Apart from that, some definitely improvement will be there. One improvement is that it should be faster. Whenever I am searching any logs, it takes much time. For example, if I open my log in Notepad or a similar tool, I can search the text within a second. With Elastic Search, it takes a little bit of time, ten to fifteen seconds. That can be improved. Sometimes, engineers take time to assign when I create a ticket.

Fully-featured, good performance, and easy to use and install
We are using it to back up the software across the network to a remote server It is fully featured. It has allowed me to do everything I wanted to do. It is also very easy to use and install. It is pretty self-explanatory, and their support was also very good. Everything is fine. The user…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The special text processing features in this solution are very important for me."
"The machine learning features of Elastic Search are very interesting, including the possibility to include models such as ELSER and different multilingual models that let us fine-tune our searches and use them in our search projects."
"I really like the visualization that you can do within it; that's really handy, and product-wise, it is a very good and stable product."
"The most valuable feature of Elastic Enterprise Search is the opportunity to search behind and between different logs."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"Elastic Enterprise Search is a nonstructured database that can manage large amounts of nonstructured data."
"One thing I appreciate about Elastic Search is the ability to aggregate everything into one dashboard, so I can have monitoring, logs, and traces in one portal instead of having multiple different tools to do the same."
"The flexibility and the support for diverse languages that it provides for searching the database are most valuable, and we can use different languages to query the database."
"It is fully featured, has allowed me to do everything I wanted to do, is very easy to use and install, is pretty self-explanatory, and their support was also very good."
"It is fully featured. It has allowed me to do everything I wanted to do."
"Customer Service: We have a support contract with Jumpmind. The support resources are readily available and provide expert support to any questions."

Cons

"Elastic Search could benefit from a more user-friendly onboarding process for beginners."
"The solution has quite a steep learning curve. The usability and general user-friendliness could be improved."
"The documentation for Elastic Search can be challenging if you're not already familiar with the platform."
"Elasticsearch is useful for different business processes, but there are some problems."
"Regarding what I dislike about Elastic Search, there is one issue that occurs because Elastic Search is not my primary database; it serves as a substitute database for the searching part."
"I think the biggest issue we had with Elastic Search was regarding integrations with our multi-factor authentication tool."
"Something that could be improved is better integrations with Cortex and QRadar, for example."
"The price could be better."
"The user interface could improve. We are looking at some cloud-based databases, and I don't think they support that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are using the free version and intend to upgrade."
"It can move from $10,000 US Dollars per year to any price based on how powerful you need the searches to be and the capacity in terms of storage and process."
"This product is open-source and can be used free of charge."
"The pricing structure depends on the scalability steps."
"An X-Pack license is more affordable than Splunk."
"We are using the Community Edition because Elasticsearch's licensing model is not flexible or suitable for us. They ask for an annual subscription. We also got the development consultancy from Elasticsearch for 60 days or something like that, but they were just trying to do the same trick. That's why we didn't purchase it. We are just using the Community Edition."
"It can be expensive."
"This is a free, open source software (FOSS) tool, which means no cost on the front-end. There are no free lunches in this world though. Technical skill to implement and support are costly on the back-end with ELK, whether you train/hire internally or go for premium services from Elastic."
