Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The best thing about Denodo is that creating and deploying a web service can be done in about 10 minutes, compared to a whole day when it comes to other solutions (such as when deploying with Java and AWS).""It is a very stable solution.""One thing that we have noticed is that when you have a BI tool, you end up building a lot of the logic in the BI tool, but as a company, every company wants to be tool agnostic because today, you could be in the Qlik Sense, and tomorrow, you may decide to go with Tableau or something else that is there. If you have put a lot of logic within the tool, transitioning or moving away from one BI tool to another tool becomes a very intensive process. By keeping the logic in Denodo, you can move to any tool.""In PL/SQL, first you need to gather all the data and then start writing the file, but in Denodo you fetch the data and write the data simultaneously. So, for example, if you have 1 million or 2 million records, you don't have to wait to fetch all of the 2 million; you can keep on fetching and writing in the file simultaneously.""In general, it's good for us to make tests so we can scout the data.""The most valuable features are query optimization and the single language independence from the sources we're using to catch data.""Access to numerous forums and internet information.""Denodo is very stable."

"It's scalable.""We used it pretty heavily in gathering data, which goes to our VPs. They are able to base their next revenue planning based on this metric. So, it has been invaluable.""One of the main features is integrated statistical analysis.""From a scalability standpoint, I would say it's pretty fantastic.""The solution is an affordable one.""This solution allows us to integrate data from across all client departments, for effective reporting via a single dashboard.""We particularly like the data angling feature of this solution. This gives us the ability to work on data transformations, join files, and carry out other data preparation tasks all in a single tool.""The most valuable features of TIBCO Spotfire are visualization. It's very nice, clear, and, flexible. You can analyze many data types and the user interface is very good."

Cons
"The solution is slow when there are many virtualization layers.""Sometimes, Windows-related functions do not work properly in Denodo. The analytic functions in SQL do not work properly.""Denodo has some difficulty supporting large numbers of records.""I would like to see a proper way to avoid killing the sourcing systems.""The git configuration really should be improved.""Documentation needs to be improved""It would be good if the solution provided a much-needed cellular platform.""Denodo currently integrates with ChatGPT, but the ability to manage and utilize them directly within Denodo would be a significant improvement."

More Denodo Cons →

"The initial setup can be difficult.""The design of the UI could be improved.""We encountered difficulties connecting the special data sets, as the post data set did not contain any shared columns, making it difficult to establish a connection between the data sets.""The Text Area feature needs to be more user-friendly. It is a little clunky to use, and it is difficult to consistently format text.""The data compression has room for improvement.""The way TIBCO Spotfire is designed, in my opinion, is the reason why it lags a bit, especially compared to other BI tools like Qlik.""Print capability and trigger-based events.""I would like more easy-to-implement analytical algorithms. At the moment they include things like forecasts and regressions. They need to add a lot more of these types of things to the product because not everyone is a data scientist."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The licensing should be improved, as the cost per connector is quite expensive."
  • "I don't know the actual cost, but it's tens of thousands of dollars per month."
  • "The licensing charges for this solution are payable annually."
  • "The pricing is pretty good, and I would rate it at four out of five."
  • "Cost wise, on a scale from one to five, with one being the cheapest and five being the most expensive, Denodo would be at three. We get all the features in a bundle."
  • "Depending on the size of the client you want to work with, it can be prohibitively expensive at times."
  • "There is an express edition and a licensed enterprise edition."
  • "Talking with my manager and others, nobody has complained about the pricing so far which is a positive sign."
  • More Denodo Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The ROI is nearly impossible to calculate."
  • "The pricing seems competitive and reasonable. The value delivered by the product far exceeds the cost."
  • "The Tibco sales teams have been very difficult to work with - ignoring requests, misrepresenting level of demand, etc."
  • "The cost is a few hundred dollars per user per year."
  • "The cost of TIBCO Spotfire could improve. It should be less expensive. It's the most expensive visualization tool in our company."
  • "The price-point for this solution is negotiable depending on usage levels."
  • "This product carries a monthly licensing charge, with the amount depending on the features that are to be included. This costs also covers the use of technical support."
