Handles workloads and diverse applications efficiently
We have a lot of VMs on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. On a single server, we have probably hosted 14 or 15 VMs. Out of these, 8 to 10 are continuously running, and four of them are backup VMs, so it can handle a good workload. For cybersecurity, it is only accessible on the intranet; it is not accessible through the web. We use it for local development purposes, and it is behind our firewall. Its security is strong. We handle a lot of test data for government and confidential customers. It is safe and strong locally. We have not experienced any security issues. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have helped to reduce unplanned production downtime if we need to replace a hard disk, instead of completely shutting a server, there is a hot swap feature. It is quite good in that aspect. Usually, for any activity, there is a downtime of about 30 minutes. It has saved a lot of time. We have tried AI workloads for a development environment for a government customer in Singapore. The servers are hosted in Singapore. It is an ML-based engine with AI. It is a government project where data is processed, and we run it on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. The benefit of running AI workloads on PowerEdge Servers is that it is easy to allocate memory. The application we are running is memory intensive. It is pretty easy to scale memory and storage.

Helps to save time and has no issues with integration
We use the solution for our browser router.  We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration.  Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features. I have been working with the product for five years. I rate Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms'…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like how I can stack many servers on top of each other, and they work like a cloud."
"The Dell name holds a lot of weight on our position as a partner of Dell's when it comes to liquid cooling the systems. We have a great relationship with Dell, so we are able to exchange information very easily to be able to build these systems for our customers."
"This means that if you would scale up linearly, one person could take care of 3000 Servers. That's quite impactful. Google published three people for 1000. We are doing one person for 3000. That allows us to free human resources for other tasks."
"The GUI is accessible and everything is pretty much upfront. You don't get lost in navigating between the tabs."
"The feature I appreciate the most about Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the reliability. I have tried other manufacturers and servers both personally and in my job, and it's clear that the Dell PowerEdge offers the best price, performance, and reliability; there's really no contest."
"The most valuable aspect of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is that they don't require support for card installation and offer extensive diagnostic software."
"The ease of installation is valuable. The physical side of installation is quite intuitive and has got better by leaps and bounds. The hardware has always been fantastic, and it has always been reliable."
"Their management tools are the most valuable. Our customers like the flexibility of being able to scale up and out. It is very easy for them to scale and add additional nodes and servers to their storage solutions, such as the ATI solution. It has very good quality and a great deployment model. Its warranty is also very good, and it is very stable. Their fixes have been quick if they have those."
"The most valuable Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platform is its ability to do routing in any way that I need. It's more than capable of handling the load I'm currently sending."
"The product is highly scalable."
"This solution is easy to manage and the resiliency of the hardware is excellent."
"We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration."
"The most valuable feature of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is its robustness."
"I recommend Juniper because it is a code router that is easy to configure and manage."
"It's a stable product."
"The main benefit of the Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is their stability."

Cons

"In terms of energy use, it takes up a lot."
"When trying to piece out a server for our builds, there are so many different SKUs—probably 30 to 40 SKUs—that it can be difficult to read. If that could be condensed a little bit, that would help."
"It needs improvements in the thermal design and the management of servers."
"The solution needs to offer better service feedback, their response rate is slow when we have questions."
"I recommend not locking the GPU behind a different license for iDRAC."
"PowerEdge is not that flexible. For example, it's difficult if I need something that is not in Dell's portfolio. We offer the flexibility to the customer. We can implement different things Dell doesn't have. If you have preconfigured systems, it's hard to transition them to what you need."
"Maybe on the education side, working with third-party sellers on how easy their products are could probably help."
"Its price could be better."
"Although the support for this solution is good, there is still room for improvement."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms could improve by having a graphical interface. A lot of the younger generation tend to be used to graphical interfaces, command line tends to scare them."
"I want support to improve in terms of quality."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should improve by being more agile with new technology that sits on top of the router."
"The main disadvantage is the price when compared to MikroTik, which is much cheaper but less stable."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features."
"The product licensing process needs improvement."
"It needs to be more multifunctional for enterprises."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'd like them to be cheaper, but that's not the world we live in and that's not where the pound is at."
"I am satisfied with the pricing of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers and would rate the cost as seven out of ten, with ten being the best."
"The price is reasonable. You have to pay if you want quality. When we purchase something, we have to do some market analysis, and I haven't seen a significant difference compared to other solutions."
"They are affordable. Even during our recent procurement, the cost of Dell servers was lower than that of HPE."
"Dell is somewhat more expensive than HPE."
"The high cost of Dell PowerEdge Rack Server licenses is attributed to the pre-installed Windows Server operating system from Microsoft."
"I know the pricing for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers went up last year, and we weren't too happy about that, but it is what it is."
"Dell EMC PowerEdge Rack Servers are very expensive."
"The price of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is reasonable. We are on a perpetual license. I do not have any maintenance service as part of the license."
"The tool's pricing is in the middle."
