The customization in Securonix Next-Gen SIEM is more difficult compared to other solutions. At the operation level, we are not facing many challenges with automating things using Securonix Next-Gen SIEM, but at the admin level, we have many challenges where log parsing is causing issues and compatibility is not present. The primary technology challenge we have is not at the security tools level. For example, firewall Cisco and others are capable. However, specific to product, for SAP, we are using certain products, and developing custom connectors for each product, especially the internal applications, is difficult, and Securonix Next-Gen SIEM is not up to the mark.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I appreciate that there are people behind the scenes sorting out valuable alerts from those that are not, so I only get alerts when they are real."
"On my end, the most valuable feature of this solution is that I can install it and forget about it. After that, their SOC team takes over and they only call me when there's a problem."
"The solution also watches over Microsoft 365 and keeps a copy of logs."
"The solution is all encompassing and can incorporate email monitoring."
"On a scale from one to ten, I would rate the overall solution as a ten."
"Their SOC is phenomenal in not monitoring and responding and taking action."
"In summary: First, I have been able to reduce my overhead by half, and second, my analyst is a lot more efficient and the noise in my environment is reduced by at least 70 percent."
"We ended up moving our clients over to QRadar as this solution did not end up working for either of them."
"The solution has proven to be stable so far...The solution is easy to scale up."
"We ingest billions of logs without worrying about resource allocation."
"Securonix Next-Gen helps us detect advanced threats faster and gives us lower response times."
"The most valuable feature is that it works on user behavior and event rarities."
"The machine-learning algorithms are the most valuable feature because they're able to identify the 'needle in the haystack.'"
"What I like most is that the threat models and risk scoring are very accurate and very helpful to the analysts on my team. They help highlight the most important things for them to look at."

Cons

"While I am very satisfied with the service, supporting additional platforms, particularly Linux support, would be a beneficial improvement."
"The feature we keep asking for is a vulnerability scan."
"The interface could be more intuitive. More transparency is needed in the interface as a lot of details are hidden behind the scenes, making them difficult or impossible to access."
"The solution does not tie into other EDR products like CyberArk or CrowdStrike but that might be more useful."
"The interface could be more intuitive."
"Some texts seem to report items as normal too quickly."
"The technical support is terrible and completely unhelpful."
"We thought they were going to be a great product, however, they're actually not great at all as an MSP."
"It seems to me that within Securonix there is no option for completely visualizing the types of sources or if there is any loss of logs. I've heard that they have an additional module to validate those types of cases, but in terms of the platform itself only, I can only see how often it sends data but not any specific detail."
"Sometimes, there is instability in the data in terms of the customization of the time. I have sometimes observed discrepancies in the data, which is something they should work on. They should bring more stability to time customization. If we are seeing a particular data, when we change the time zone, there should be the same data. There should not be any discrepancy."
"The customization in Securonix Next-Gen SIEM is more difficult compared to other solutions. At the admin level, we have many challenges where log parsing is causing issues and compatibility is not present."
"There is slight room for improvement in terms of the initial deployment. What I see is that Securonix is more focused on their product. They are expanding, in a big way, the number of customers. So there has to be a number of dedicated teams to jump on and speed up the deployment process."
"Sometimes, there is instability in the data in terms of the customization of the time. They should work on stability on tool."
"It could be improved a little bit more for admin users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is in line with other products."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Its pricing is quite similar to others and is very competitive. The other solutions have different types of licensing, but when you do the math, it is competitive."
"Licensing is based on events per second (EPS), costing between $50 to $60 per EPS."
"The pricing is good, but by adding more things, the licensing becomes more complex because an EPS license fluctuates a lot. This licensing concept is going to be problematic in the long run."
"A good thing about Securonix is that they don't charge by volume of data or number of devices... They charge by the number of employees, which is a much more predictable number for me, versus data. Our costs are in the $100,000 range over a three-year subscription."
"The pricing is fine compared to the market but I think that at some point the competitors will catch up on price."
"We went in on a three-year agreement which has an annual licensing fee, based upon the number of people that we're monitoring. There have not been any additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"I had heard that it was much cheaper than Splunk and some of the other tools, and they gave us a nice package with support. They accommodated the number of users and support very well."
"Its price is fine. We found it to be cheaper than LogRhythm, Exabeam, Splunk, as well as Elastic Security. A few months ago, when we were comparing Securonix with Elastic Security, we found Securonix to be cheaper than Elasticsearch. We were pretty surprised that Elastic Security is more expensive than Securonix because Elasticsearch is just starting, and it cannot compete with Securonix at this time. So, the pricing of Securonix is pretty good for now."
