Using the app is straightforward with easy buttons to click on.
Customer Service: We didn't contact their customer service at any point because the backup and recovery process is pretty straightforward. But they have a customer support email and phone just in case. Technical Support: CloudAlly can be used by a non-techie person because it's simple. We didn't contact the technical support, but it's available for any user who may encounter a problem.

Backup operations have become faster and daily recoveries run smoothly for on‑prem workloads
When compared to other tools, the deduplication in Cohesity DataProtect is very fast, and the restore performance is better than other tools. Global deduplication ensures that only unique data blocks are stored, significantly reducing storage consumption. Cohesity DataProtect's dashboard displays options and errors clearly, making it easy to access and understand how to fix issues. Cohesity DataProtect's ability to start processes automatically without manual selections enhances its reliability. Cohesity DataProtect's architecture ensures that agent installations automatically reflect in the dashboard, allowing for seamless integration into backup jobs. This improves operational efficiency, ensuring backups can be triggered without manual refreshes. Additionally, the user interface is intuitive, and the respect of the N-1 rule during updates helps prevent client-affecting issues.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"CloudAlly provides a unique solution for every major email application."
"With this solution, its remarkable to see that ease of use means ease of use."
"The user-friendly interface of CloudAlly significantly enhances data protection."
"Definitely an impressive ROI because the app is inexpensive and saves us time, headaches plus slow computer devices that could be jammed with huge data."
"The stability has been good; there aren't bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze, making it quite reliable."
"The product is easy to put in place, all backups are done very quickly, and it's easy to perform restores."
"The recovery process is effective, especially when it comes to other types of data, such as VMs, and overall, the performance is commendable."
"Setup was extremely easy from racking to backing up was about one hour."
"We have quick, reliable, verifiable backups that replicate off-site, the system is easy to administer and troubleshoot, and support is quick to respond and helpful."
"There are many features that make Cohesity stand out."
"The elastic search function is unbelievable."
"Backups and restores are much faster and we were able to increase our backup frequency where it made sense to do so in order to have lower RPO."

Cons

"CloudAlly can improve in the areas of reporting, especially regarding backup statistics and backup failures presented in pie graphs and charts."
"The rack mounting instructions did not appear to be correct, but we were able to overcome it."
"In terms of what could be improved, their UI requires a manual refresh. It doesn't seem like it updates itself sometimes when you're moving from screens or waiting for a change to take effect, so you have to manually refresh."
"For the support, I can provide a rating of four only because they initially provide some steps, but later say they are not sure, which is a problem in a production environment."
"Better cluster support."
"I would say they could work on the update process of the nodes."
"You need to put the full name instead of a few letters while searching for backup. It should also improve customization."
"In terms of what could be improved, it just needs some maturity."
"This solution is only compatible with a limited number of storage arrays, including Pure and Cisco Hyperflex."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It has reasonable pricing, and we know they can give discounts. If you look at the primary pricing or the list pricing, it conforms to the market pricing, but you have to have a discount on it. Otherwise, it is way too expensive."
"Sizing is important and it is easy to overestimate."
"If SQL is in heavy use at your location, I would highly recommend narrowing your PoC testing to Cohesity and Rubrik. They will be competitive on pricing with each other, so really put them through the paces."
"The solution's pricing is in the mid-range, where it's neither costly nor cheap."
"Licensing is per node and per protected terabyte. You will also pay 10-15% annually for support."
"My advice is to always negotiate for better pricing."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly. It is cheaper than other backup solutions."
"Ensure that you understand the per TB licensing model. Also, Exchange backups are not native to Cohesity and require Kroll."
