We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution can be integrated with some network electors like Cisco Stealthwatch, Cisco ISE, and Active Directory to provide the client with authentication certificates.""In general, the features are all great. However, if I need to take hardware for ASA, because they need to upgrade to Firepower, we want to create rules. For that, most of the time we go to the command line. Right now Firepower is working really hard on the grid. You can apply all those rules to the grid. Even if you want to monitor the logs, for example, the activity will tell you which particular user has been blocked because of that rule. Firepower's monitoring interface is very good, because you can see each and every piece. ASA also had it, but there you needed to type the command and be under the server to see all that stuff. In Firepower you have the possibility to go directly to the firewall. The way the monitoring is displayed is also very nice. The feature I appreciate most in Firepower is actually the grid. The grid has worked very well.""Cisco technical support is unbeatable. It offers a premium service every time.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the filtering.""I like most of Cisco's features, like malware detection and URL filtering.""Solid intrusion detection and prevention that scales easily in very large environments.""The whole solution is very good, and stable.""It is quite an intelligent product."

"What I found most valuable in Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is its accuracy. It's the best IPS solution in the market.""The most valuable feature is the central command center, where we can control and manage the solution.""You don't need any hardware because the solution is on the cloud. I like that Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is easy to install and manage.""For intrusion detection and mitigation, it has helped us in sort of known signatures and all sorts of things. So, we're very happy with the engine. That's the work.""I would rate TTPS's stability eight out of ten.""The monitoring is the most valuable feature.""A standout feature of TippingPoint is its strong integration with various solutions. It stands out as one of the leading network Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) in the current market and is known for its seamless integration with other solutions. For instance, when it identifies a potential threat within the traffic stream, it meticulously analyzes the data. Even in multilayer security scenarios, Tipping Point's network IPS can serve as a bypass for the basic firewall. If a threat is identified by Tipping Point, it promptly shares this information with the other systems. This ensures that they're updated and can employ the necessary solutions from their signature databases. The entire network gets safeguarded automatically. This integration extends to components like security and FX. This linkage streamlines our operations, offering a consolidated point of control for managing threats effectively.""Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is very stable. In addition, the provider gives notice of any changes well in advance, which is important for planning updates."

Cons
"The pricing needs to be improved. We have lots of low-budget clients around us. Budget constraints are always a deterrent in our market.""The main dashboard of Cisco Sourcefire SNORT could improve.""The cloud can be improved.""There are problems setting up VPNs for some regions.""I would like to have analytics included in the suite.""If the price is brought down then everybody will be happy.""The initial setup is a little difficult compared to other products in the market. It depends on the environment. If we are doing any migration, it might take months in a brown-field environment.""I did not experience any pain points that required improvement. Maybe a couple of false-positives, but that's about it."

"The firewall rules are limited.""The solution should provide the possibility to mix traffic and the traffic's geographical source to have improved functionality.""We need more integration. It would be good if Azure IPS and TippingPoint IPS and other products from Trend Micro like their DBI and IWSVA could talk between each other.""I find Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System a bit clunky, and updating it can be a pain in the neck because you need to do it from time to time, so this is what needs to be improved in it. I would also rather have an all-in-one system that does intrusion detection, protection, web filtering, and also serves as a firewall, and my company is moving to an all-in-one solution, but I'm unsure of how soon that's going to be. Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System also doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle the required traffic within my company, so it's going to be replaced.""The solution is pretty expensive.""Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System needs strong Spanish-language support.""TTPS is a bit behind in visuals, the UI, and some data elements.""I would like to see this solution more lightweight and easier to install."
