InfluxDB deprecated FluxQL, which was intuitive since developers are already familiar with standard querying.
Chief Technology Officer at Presta Agency
Having a SQL abstraction in InfluxDB could be beneficial, making it more accessible for teams that prefer querying with SQL-style syntax.
Senior System Developer at Norled
It could include automated backup and a monitoring solution for InfluxDB or a script developed by a REST API.
Network engineer at a energy/utilities company with 10,001+ employees

Setup Cost

Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller is costly but offers high value, transparent pricing, and excellent support and service.
InfluxDB's pricing change to a monthly fee affects enterprise costs, while some benefit from unclear setup and licensing details.
We use the open-source version of InfluxDB, so it is free.

Flow monitoring has improved planning for east-west traffic and real-time capacity decisions
Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (Formerly DCNM) helps to understand the flows and data plane capacities, which are the primary use cases. Usually, people struggle with east-west traffic flow when they need to decide on firewalls or products. People typically understand north-south traffic flows but usually miss the east-west traffic flows in data centers. I was focusing more on this so that people can accordingly plan, such as after F5, the number of servers, the number of sessions needed, and whether we need to plan the interface for groups from the line capacity perspective. This kind of information was valuable to us. The real-time telemetry feature was beneficial. When experiencing performance issues, I could determine if there were any issues related to flows or areas where bottlenecks were occurring.

Tracking vessel movements seamlessly with continuous data collection and query execution
We mainly write and read data from InfluxDB. We perform very simple queries to do time series on a key, which is a unique ID of the vessel. We will select a vessel and select from time to time stamp. That’s what we do. InfluxDB’s core functionality is crucial as it allows us to store our data and execute queries with excellent response times.
