Efficient reports simplify tracking and feedback for cybersecurity submissions
I am a developer working in cybersecurity, and I use Bugcrowd to help companies remove vulnerabilities from their websites. I report vulnerabilities found in applications or customer platforms through Bugcrowd's cloud platform. This allows the cloud team to track submissions, and then the client…

Have found the AI analyst and detection functions highly valuable for network operations while managing complexity in initial setup
The functions I find most valuable in Darktrace ( /products/darktrace-reviews ) are the AI analyst as well as the detection. The autonomous response capabilities of Darktrace are not crucial for me because it doesn't work in a network where there are no core switches. In a modern network, the autonomous response doesn't work, especially when sitting in a shared data center. If I'm running a traditional network where I am not in a shared data center with a layer two dedicated for my resources, then it can work for me. However, if I am in a data center where I don't have layer two, it becomes an issue because the autonomous response is reliant on sending spoofed TCP resets to my core switch to block traffic, which is a major issue.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"I would rate Bugcrowd a ten out of ten."
"One of the features I like most about Bugcrowd is the ability to create a report in a very easy way."
"I believe Bugcrowd is highly stable."
"The most valuable aspect of Bugcrowd is that it provides a long list of different websites or web applications where I can report vulnerabilities."
"Bugcrowd has programs that disclose rewards and invite researchers to new programs."
"Working on Bugcrowd has made me a better security engineer since it provides a competitive environment to report successful vulnerabilities."
"Bugcrowd's support team is very active and supportive."
"Darktrace's most valuable features are its dashboards and its ability to summarize huge amounts of information about threats and suspicious traffic."
"It is very easy to work with Darktrace once you know how it works and the type of permissions that you need to get related to the security over a network. The interface is awesome. I'm sure that you have seen Ironman, and you know Jarvis, the computer of Tony Stark. The interface of Darktrace is very similar, and you can see in 3D, like a hologram, the whole network, traffic, and all the traces inside the network. The interface is awesome, and it provides a lot of information. At least for us, it is very easy to handle this interface, get the reports, and do the interpretation of those reports. Darktrace also provides mobile monitoring. With an app on your mobile phone, you can view the information live, which is very useful for area directors and field engineers. Darktrace can be also correlated with any type of big data solution, such as Splunk."
"I highly recommend the overall solution to other users and rate it as nine out of ten."
"The most valuable feature of Darktrace is its ability to detect and counter threats before they occur."
"It is a stable solution without downtime."
"The features that are most valuable to me include detection, response with analytics, and network detection."
"Its AI technology supports cybersecurity by learning my environment and accurately responding to threats."
"In terms of features, the data or information they collect and unsupervised machine learning are very valuable. Its unsupervised machine learning has reduced our team's effort. Both Darktrace and Vectra work on unsupervised machine learning that learns the behavior or develops a profile on its own, which allows our security team to do some other tasks rather than spending time on Darktrace or Vectra. Because of unsupervised machine learning, its detection capability is quite good. Along with that, if we utilize the integration feature properly, the automated incident response capability of Darktrace is quite useful."

Cons

"Bugcrowd should provide more access to the reports, similar to HackerOne, allowing for full disclosure once a bug is resolved, so researchers can learn from them. They should improve the responsibility type and response time of their customer support, especially when the issue is urgent."
"Bugcrowd should provide more access to the reports, similar to HackerOne, allowing for full disclosure once a bug is resolved, so researchers can learn from them."
"The triaging process has slowed down compared to three years ago. It now takes more time to resolve a reported vulnerability and receive the payout."
"The triaging process has slowed down compared to three years ago."
"There is room for improvement in Bugcrowd's response time when customer input is needed for resolving tickets."
"There is room for improvement in Bugcrowd's response time when customer input is needed for resolving tickets. If this time could be minimized, it would be very helpful."
"Its threat analyzer could be better. It should also have agents. They should improve this product by installing agents for the machine to get more visibility. Currently, they are monitoring only the network. They should also monitor the agents from inside. It should also have a better pricing plan because it is an expensive product."
"It can have more integration with orchestration or event management solutions. They can provide more knowledge or research information for analysts for investigating cases and detecting anomalies in networks."
"The module can improve so that every time it's more intelligent."
"It takes time to go through the interface and pick up things. If it were a more straightforward interface, then it would free up time."
"Getting logs from different sources can be a challenge."
"It would be useful if there was a way to check to see if there are certain devices that are not in sync with the solution. I'm not sure if this is an option or not."
"Pricing bothers me and this is one of the major factors when choosing a solution."
"There is a high ratio of false positive information."
