Solid backup tool with good scalability
The last scenario in which I used Bacula was for a customer who needed some open-source tool which could support encryption at that time. We managed to convince the customer to use Bacula to deploy it in their environment It was a very good project. The Bacula concept, topology, and networking…

Backup and recovery options integrate smoothly while affordability remains a challenge
My relationship with Veeam is that I am a reseller and system integrator. The support for both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure from Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 impacts my data protection strategy because that's the reason we are using Veeam. Veeam is a platform that supports both on-prem and cloud. It's a single pane of glass that we can support both, which is one of the good reasons we are using Veeam. The key benefits my organization has experienced with Veeam's integration of SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Teams within its data protection framework are that single licensing is one of the things customers prefer to use because it's very easy for them to manage. I would rate Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 overall an eight on a scale from 1 to 10.

"It is a stable solution."
"The solution is easy to use and stable and can be made to fit one's needs."
"The most valuable features of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 are its intuitive interface, ease of use, and unlimited capacity for backup and restore."
"One of the main features of the solution is it is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is the built-in integration with Office 365, which helps us protect email accounts and servers. We use it on virtual servers on the cloud with Azure, or we can use an agent on physical servers."

Cons

"We would like to see an improvement in the functionality of the GUI."
"It could improve its interface or offer a specific screen for the manager of the company."
"We are looking for a unique interface that can rule both enterprise and open source editions. Such a thing does not yet exist."
"Many features have been converted to commercial licensing, which restricts their availability."
"Easier setup and configuration, perhaps including a GUI, would be an improvement."
"A more user-friendly interface (GUI) can be developed."
"Bacula needs a graphical user interface because, for administrators, the command-line interface is okay, but for the average user it is not very easy."
"The initial setup could be a bit easier."
"If clients are backing up onto tape, Veeam's newest versions don't really deal with that."
"It's a new product. It's not mature."
"One area that needs improvement is the pricing of Veeam Backup, as it can be expensive at $28 per user for one year."
"We have found that there is a limitation in this solution where it only takes the backup of users who are using Office 365 Enterprise email IDs. We have many users in management and approximately 50 other users who are using Office 365 of which Veeam is able to capture the backup. However, for the other users who are on the local email server at that time, the solution is not able to capture the backup."
"I have not really seen an ROI from Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. On the customer side, we don't really see the ROI."
"One area that needs improvement is the pricing of Veeam Backup, as it can be expensive at twenty-eight dollars per user for one year."
"A while back, I had some trouble using the agent. It might be a problem with older versions. Sometimes, I also have issues installing or making backups from the console to that type of operating system."
"The solution announced many features two years ago, and they still have not happened, so I would hope that the next release has these ready to go."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an open-source solution."
"We have a perpetual license."
"The solution is not expensive."
"I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower."
"Its cost is pretty high. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
"This is not a stand-alone product and requires a standard Veeam license for your organization in addition to the cost of the solution."
"The pricing is expensive."
"I have a per-user license for the number of users and the mailboxes that I have."
"The pricing model makes this solution more expensive than it needs to be."
"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
